Jets fans are delusional if they think this makes them a contender. Favre doesn't even want to be there.

We know you love Pennington, you rode his dick for the last two seasons, and i still have no idea why.

If you don't know why, you really haven't been paying attention and/or were too busy encouraging women to take their tops off at gate D. You pick tough guy..

This is the best news for us since Vinny Testicles was our QB

BTW Favre doesn't know what he wants
  • Jets fans are delusional if they think this makes them a contender. Favre doesn't even want to be there.

This alone does not make them serious contenders but rather the last two drafts and this past offseason. Jets threw around alot of money on proven players dating back to Thomas Jones. Top notch offensive line proven running back and now a QB coming off great season. Not to mention Vernon Gholston and big Kris Jenkins.

    That all makes them contenders.

Paying attention! you're a delusional jet fan if you were still wishing Pennington as our QB last season. I watched the games i dont know about you

He has a shoulder made of glass and couldn't throw a twelve yard out without it being pick six.

Yeah Yeah Yeah... but the intangibles right??

It's Official Chad Pennington has been released. Fuck Yeah!

What is it with you hating on Pennington so much? Haven't we been through this before? And if you don't get why many of us Jet fans admire and respect what Pennington has done for this franchise, it's your problem. Many stated their reasons in previous threads where you bashed him and all you can say 'is it the intangibles?' lol and dumb comments about riding cock...

Didn't he put life back into this organization? Had that kid made that fucking field goal in Pittsburgh, the Jets would have played in the AFC championship game..and that's with Pennington, a hurt Pennington at that..which further fucked up his arm, but wanted to be out there..the guys is a fighter..last year wasn't all Pennington's fault..let it the fuck go and instead of being an ass about it, you should be thanking him..

"It's a bittersweet moment for us," Tannenbaum said. "I have all the respect in the world for Chad as a person, as a player. We've accomplished a lot of good things with Chad ... He gave his heart and soul to this organization for a long, long time. I really appreciate everything he's done."

    Here we gooo..

fucking packers! i almost hope they suck this year just so that mmcarthy, thompson and that other moron get shitcanned. this past month was an embarrassment to one of the nfl's greatest organizations. i mean, they could have had one of the greatest quarterbacks every leading their team, but for some reason they think it's better to go with three passers who have a combined zero starts in their careers. yeah, this sure looks like a positive step forward for the franchise. :(

and what do they get in return? a draft pick who may or may not (more likely that latter) turn out to be worthy to wash favres dirty undies.

ditto...well said. its all about ego. those guys told everyone that the new quarter back was rodgers. favre comes back....and they cant take their egos down a notch and say....ok...i guess favre is quarterback again. i mean, its not like he led them to within an overtime win in the semi's of the eventual superbowl champ less then 5 or 6 months ago.

Buffalo? don't give them too much credit yet. They'll be good but not light years ahead of jets

yea...i'm a Bills fan and you can't think this team is going to be that much better than last season just because they added some great talent and all those players that were injured last year are back.

they will lose at least 2 games they should definitely win (Broncos/Cowboys game last season)

now beating the Jets both games isn't a sure thing either.

The hapless Jets will still finish last. It's going to suck to see Favre go 2-14 in his final season, but he asked for it.

    Pats
    Bills
    Dolphins
    Jets
All that's sacred, comes from youth....dedications, naive and true.

As long as those 2 wins are against the 18-1 cheaters from NE, I'm happy

I will say he was a good smart player when he played and that would be prior to his rotator cuff surgery. when he came on the scene and took over in 2002 he looked great. Blowing out the colts in the first round of those playoffs i loved. Honeymoon is over...2003 Chad misses six games broken hand jets finish 6-10.

2004 Chad healthy again jets finish 10-6 have good run in playoffs and as you said a couple missed field goals to ice the game.

2005 Chad has surgery in the offseason. and starts the season looking like crap. Everybody knows it and nobody wants to admit it. Turn out he needs surgery again. Jets finish 4-12.

2006 Chad looks good.He is healthy. Earns comeback player of year. Jets have very favorable schedule late in the year make the playoffs at 10-6

2007 here we go again. right out of the gate Jets look bad no explosiveness New England kicks the crap out of the jets. Pennington out as starter midway through season due to ankle sprain. jets finish 4-12
Look at the pattern here. Good Year followed by terrible year. Healthy year followed by injured year. How can you build a franchise and superbowl caliber teams with this sort of inconsistencies?

Good post man. I heard on the fan or somewhere that Pennington is the only Jet QB who has led them to the playoffs 3 times. That's pretty good for the limited number of seasons played healthy. Staying healthy was definitely a frustrating issue for everyone. The 2006 comeback year was a special season for me for various reasons..with that said, he was a good Jet..and I for one am certainly happy Favre is here..

lol..Favre alone throwing to himself would ensure at least 3 wins..or at least it's what Madden would say ;)..

Egos?? well hell if you're talking about egos you have to put Favre's right in the mix. The Packers asked him to make a decision before the draft so they could draft accordingly and structure their team... Favre retires and the Pakcers make moves (draft picks, trades, whatever) in step with that... then Favre decides what a couple of weeks before training camp that he wants to play again... I can't blame the Packers for saying "hey that ship has sailed. If you wanna come back as a backup you're more than welcome, if not sorry". The team was headed in a new direction and Favre was not included in that direction in any way other than as a backup. Hell if Favre would have packed the ego away and said hey sure I'll come back, help Rodgers along and if the team needs me I'm there... who knows he could have been the started by week 1 or 2 but now he's in NY as a starter with a team who could get lucky and be in the running for a wildcard spot.

This situation could have been handled a hell of alot better by both sides.. it wasn't and now both are tarnished by it.
