Wow, for the first time in a long time we actually have a legitimate reason to be optimistic without looking like a bunch of morons. The addition of Favre along with the stacked offensive line and the significantly improved defense automatically makes them a contender..I love Pennington and will root for him as long as his team is in the NFC and not playing the Jets..
Here we gooo..

Bruschi and Vrabel are going to break his leg. Then he'll retire. Again. :D

I'd like to know how they are a contender in a division with New England and Buffalo??? I think they'd be lucky to be in the wildcard hunt but don't see it (the wildcard(s) will probably be from the South) especially with Farve having 3 weeks to learn a new system and acclamate to new teammates. Also with playing NE and San Diego in the 1st three weeks doesn't help either.

    Sorry....

Whatever bro, you ain't knocking me down today..Good day for gang green..long time coming ;)..

But to briefly address a few of your points..of course New England is the favorite in the division, but Buffalo I'm not too worried about..Fully expect to go 1-2 first three games..

Favre is coming to the NYJ so that the BRIAN BROHM era of the Green Bay Packers can start around game 6 this season.

Legitimate reason? Good luck with Brett throwing pick after pick.... Jets go either 8-8 or 9-7. So good luck with all that...

  • Favre will definitely make the Jets a better team, but they will still be a half-ass squad that will get throttled by the Pats and probably Buffalo. They will be lucky to have a shot at the playoffs even with him.

    My prediction: 9-7
All I have to do is revel in the everyday....then do it again tomorrow

They say every sin is deadly but I believe they may be wrong...I'm guilty of all seven and I don't feel too bad at all

What the hell are you guys talking about? Seriously, why is everyone so down on the Jets. I understand that it is the Jets, but aren't you guys aware of the offseason upgrades? I mean, the team actually did get better..on paper of course...and in the most important areas..Offensive line and pass rush..and now we have a legend at QB..what the fuck?

I started a thread a few weeks back about the Jets possibly getting Favre....and now its finally true

I think we have a shot at the wild card and maybe 1 playoff win...big maybe

Although I'm kinda glad he is coming, I will say I lost a lot of respect for him as a person. What he did in Green Bay was childish in a very me 1st kinda way.Green Bay shares some blame....but Favre is in love with himself and all this coverage he has been getting

Can NYC handle Favre and A-Rod at the same time with all their drama...Its sure gonna be fun to watch

  • what kind of shape is favre in? and he only has 3 weeks to get comfortable with the jets? It's ok to get excited over this but i would lower my expectations just a little.
As in no playoffs for you. He was on the decline in GB and his interceptions wont be shrugged off in NY like they were in GB. but hey, he's still better than what you had.

Upgrades or not, the Jets were awful last year and the AFC is loaded up. Favre's play last year, I believe, was an apparition even though the Pack had(has) a pretty good young group. I just don't think Favre has what it takes to put a team on his back anymore. Maybe I'm wrong and that's fine with me if I am because I admire Bret. Three things are certain though: 1. Jets will not beat the Pats. 2.) Jets will not beat the Colts. 3.) Jets will not be in the Super Bowl (I would say playoffs but that's not as easy a call to make).
Jets are now middle of the pack and that's it

The majority of Jet fans are also die hard Met fans....and I don't think I need to explain further ;)..

But for once, just this once I actually feel just a little optimistic for the upcoming season....so this is how it feels? Don't worry, I'll be jumping off a bridge in no time :)..

Thats where u have to be Middle of the pack, no pun intended

Look at the Giants last year, they caught fire and had one of the greatest Super Bowl runs in history(3 road wins + beating an undefeated team)

I'm in no way sayin the Jets are as good as the Giants were, or are right now...alll I'm saying is the NFL is a league that seems to change the most year to year, and with the exception of a handfull of teams...everyone has a shot to be in the playoffs

We know you love Pennington, you rode his dick for the last two seasons, and i still have no idea why. good riddance Chad.

That being said new year and hopefully a new era. Roster is completely different from the Herm days and i am glad of that. Jets have a pretty favorable schedule and they should win at least ten games with wild card berth.
