It had to be suspenseful for it to really work, and it just wasn't to me. It was really just like a book put onto screen, and moved very slowly. Yeah, I get it...humanity is falling victim to its own violent and selfish nature...it's getting worse and worse, and the only people who can understand this (old people) can't really do anything about it...so we face self-destruction. It was still kinda boring.
The bad guy was bad, but inconsistent...sometimes showing emotion (when choking the officer), and sometimes not. That doesn't make sense to me.
I love Joel Coen's work in general, and I don't think this is a bad movie or anything...just not as good as I'd hoped it would be.
ok can someone please recap tommy lee jones' monolog at the end for me?? i'll admit i sort of zoned out for a minute as he was going on and on, and at times he was a little hard to understand with the accent. then he says something about, "and then i woke up." thats it.
over all though great movie!!!
i just don't want this to be one of those movies where the ending ruins it, i want to understand it but there's no rewind button in the movie theater!
My favorite Pearl Jam song: "Corporate Greed Boat Asshole Behind a Counter in the Oval Office"
SPOILERS----don't read further if you haven't seen it.
I just watched this movie on DVD, and I must say I loved it. And I loved the ending. The movie isn't about Javier Bardem trying to get the cash from Josh Brolin. The movie is about an old lawman (Tommy Lee Jones) who has to come to terms with the fact that he was outmatched and was unable to protect the people he was supposed to. The ending shows that the lawman lives with the demons of letting those people die and having to face his father (perceived to be a more successful lawman) in the afterlife.
I love my female wife...
we sit around and wonder exactly why our marriage should feel threatened by gay marriage

well, that's the cliffnotes version of it, for sure
deep, deep blue of the morning
gets to me every time
Finally watched this. Great movie, great acting, terrible ending! So many questions I guess I need to read the book. Did anyone actually notice Lewellen dead in the hotel room?! I didn't! And when his wife mentioned burying her mom to Anton why not mention Lewellen?!

gets to me every time
Holding me like gravity are places that pull
If ever there was someone to keep me at home
It would be you..."
