My Boss doesn't know wht a "Pearl Jam" is. Old fart that he is. All in all he's pretty cool, as long as the job gets done

Yes my boss is hassling me. My boss is ME and I know I'm spending too much time here instead of handling a variety of pesky tasks I must complete.

Wow. Might be a good idea to stop then? I'm sure your life will go on if you can only get on here at night.

in my previous job i could do whatever the fuck i wanted to do, but then i had a guilty conscience and left that job so that they could employ someone worth it. job i'm doing right now is completely opposite, i think my boss i fucking stupid and i think she's got really stupid rules, and her co-worker too...anyway her co-worker is one hell of an annoying bitch. when she went to hospital to do a sugery....i felt relived and somewhat happy because my days without her were fucking brilliant. tomorrow she is coming back - ugh.

to give you just a little example i can tell you that on my lunch time i can't go and read my e-mails or write any, if my food is smelly i must eat outside our department, i can't answer any personal phone calls whilst at work. Today i got told off because i was reading a newspaper sneakily because i had no work to do, and i did ask her if she had any work for me so she said no....and so i started reading newspaper, but because i've been told not to do such things by other bitch i was reading it secretly....and my boss noticed it. haha, and she told me "i do understand you've got no work to do, so if you want to do something else other than work please tell me about it"

 what? ok....so maybe next time i need to go and read a book and then go to toilet to shit, i need to tell her "Debra, i'm going to read this book by author (insert name ) about ( insert title ) and then i would like to go and have a shit is that ok? :D

I get hassled all the time for it. It's lame since I spend most of my time on the phone and I just browse as I sit on hold, get past secretaries, etc. This site and eBay are my downfall here...

I got popped at work for IM'ing........they told me not to do it anymore. So I took it as that.......NO IM'ing. They haven't said anything about "the PIT" but I know I shouldn't be doing it. If they called me in about this site, I'd play dumb.
But that might just be insulting to all of us.
I don't mind if my boss say's something to me, he's an idiot........it's my boss's boss that I don't like to dissapoint. Like getting a stern talking to from your dad.

People waste company time by email, showing up late, taking extended lunches & breaks, and of course, people here at work look at porn.
I figure I'd rather waste their time/money by being on here rather than showing up late every day.

That's awesome. When I was offered this job, I had to make sure they were gonna give me the 3 weeks off in June (last year) I needed because I had already scheduled a trip around Europe with my pals to follow PJ around.
They thought it was cool then.......lets see what they say about this June and my week off that I need for NYC. I don't think they are gonna think it's so cool but, I have vacation time :D

In my last job, I didn't have time to BREATHE let alone be on the internet (unless it was work related). Then I switched departments last summer and it was SOOOOO slow. (It picked up in the fall). I felt guilty being on the internet, but then I went into my supervisor's office a couple times and saw her looking at hand bags....

The attitude here is as long as we get our work done, it is okay. Which works for me! :)

I never had time to dick around on the internet during my last job, but even if I had, I would have stayed away from message boards. You people that post from work (and are reprimanded for such) are brave! I'd die if I got caught doing something like that when I wasn't supposed to. I'm such a goody-two-shoes in work situations. :D

Part of my last job was moderating a forum which used the v3 bulletin style, so half the time I was on here they though I was actually working :p

the general consensus at my office is that as long as your work gets done, it's ok if you spend a few minutes or so online

however, the person who is my supervisor's boss doesn't really care for anybody to be on the internet at any time unless you are testing out your application on the organization's intranet....so whenever he's around, nobody really dicks around then...

I know! jeez, if you're on here enough for your boss to get kranky, it's probably justified :D
