Since I wrote this, I feel as if I'm just existing, I'm not living life. It's the worst I think I've ever felt.

I'm just saying how I'm feeling. I think writing down things like this on here really helps a little sometimes:(

    I'm praying for you

My Mum's cousin took his own life this week :(
He was 19. His Mum died when he was 13 and he's been on a bad road since then. Drugs, drink etc. He had a row with his Dad and went upstairs and hung himself :( His Dad found the body a couple of hours later when he went up to make amends for the row. Such a fucking tragic waste of a life. He was still just a kid :(

  • Pointing out what someone has to live for does not help in this kind of situation. You think that thought hasn't crossed the person's mind? People that are truly depressed already feel guilty enough, to add to their guilt by trivializing their emotions and implying that they are selfishly ignoring their loved ones makes it that much harder for them to reach out for help or be truly honest about their despair. You make someone already feeling lonely and isolated become even more cut off from people that might help them.

When I was first diagnosed with major depression, a lot of my co-workers were "What do you have to be depressed about: you've got a great husband, a wonderful home, two dogs that love you". I said "I also have a chemical imbalance in my brain - thanks for adding to my guilt load.."

Oh yeah, i work at a mental health centre..

My really good friend told me that I was being a whiny bitch and had no right to be depressed. Then she emailed me a list of all the reasons why.

People just don't get it, still...

To everyone who has been touched by suicide - you have my full empathy...

It's a completely lonely feeling, because you feel like you can't relate to anybody.
