Also, I hate to say it but it was dumb that Sawyer avoided getting shot...apparently those attackers are ex-military and were damn good shots, as was proven with the red coats.

I totally agree with you on that one. I know they are trying to make Sawyer heroic, but that was a little over the top him living while returning fire and three red shirts being shot in what - like ten seconds.

I do think Ben killed Nadia. Here's what I think is going to happen.
Ben, now completely trusting of and reliant on Sayid will enlist his help in trying to kill Penelope. Once Sayid relates Nadia's death to Charles Whitmore, he will likely agree to it, given the mental state he's in.

But I think he will come to his senses and realize that he is about to do to Desmond (who he's now bonding with on the ship) the exact thing that was done to him. He will remember his loathing and mistrust for Ben, figure out that he's been used this whole time, and off Benjamin Linus instead.

And the funeral that only Jack went to will be that of Benjamin Linus; slayed by Sayid. Booyah!

I hope you're right. I just can't even imagine Sayid killing Des's girl.

Oh also, nfanel and I were talking about the similarity between Sayid's grief/anger and Aniken Skywalker.

  • Sayid will not kill Penelope. It will only make him realize he must kill Ben.

BTW, the look on Ben's face when Alex was killed? Priceless. I am going to make it my wallpaper

It was interesting to see that the smoke monster can be controlled, sort of, by whoever unleashes it. Or by Ben maybe.
I was wondering about this....it seems that Ben controls the smoke monster. He seemed utterly unperturbed as he walked straight towards it to say goodbye to Alex. Even when the soldier was running toward him, he showed no concern when it reached out and grabbed him. This leads me to wonder if he initiated the smoke monster attacks on the beach folk all through the first season (maybe to keep them dogged and tired while he was picking them off and plotting to steal Claire :p)

... or how a picnic table provided protection against the bullets.

Well said! I thought that was totally lame.

Also, I am a bit confused and need some clarification. Didn't about half the "losties" go with Locke???? 3 were killed, right? (or are we assuming more were??)

After they ended up fleeing the only ones who remained were Locke, Sawyer, Hurley, Claire, Aaron, Miles and Ben. Now, what happened to the rest? Were they just left for dead??? We didn't see a ton of bodies laying around? I don't get it.

Do you think we'll ever get a Rousseau flashback now that she is officially dead?
    Ahh..but is she officially dead?
She took one shot to the abdomen, potentially missing major organs...she could well resurface.

I don't think so. Remember a couple episodes ago...Sayid becomes a "hitman" for Ben. In last night's episode, after killing Baldy, Sayid asks Ben, "Who's next?" So, in essence that's when Sayid begins working for Ben. (Right???)

I was just going by what Alex said last night before she died.

Of course she could still be alive, I mean Locke has survived a shot in the gut as well.

My guess is Rousseau is nearly dead sort of how Naomi was nearly dead and somehow is involved in the rest of the season.

Also, AC according to lostpedia - only 4 red shirts joined Team Locke and three are now presumed dead. The only red shirt left is Steve. But who knows where he is now.

Yeah this was the beginning of Sayid's employment in the Benry Gale Linus Van Pelt hitman company.

Yep, that's when I thought Sayid and Ben's unlikely partnership began as well.

The smoke monster didn't harm Locke, I think he may have sent it after him to inspire Locke's belief about the supernatural powers of the Island and ultimately cause the divide between the beach survivors (also, a very nifty way to deliver Locke into his hands)
