I know we have homefield locked up but I still think it's a very important start for Z tonight. He did pitch the no hitter but besides that he's gotten roughed up lately. Having him pitch a good outing would be very reassuring heading into the playoffs.

??? He pitched the no no then got shelled his next outing, not even 2 IP in his start after the no no.

Ah, your welcome Brewers fans. No talking shit about the Cubs this year, AT ALL! Talk about choke city, your 07 and possibly now 08 Mets.

To my Cub fan friends, not a good outing by Z, plus Jeff didn't look to good either, which gives me a big concern come the playoffs.

Anyone else watch the game on ESPN and hear Sutcliffe's story about Bill Murray from a game back in 89 at Shea? Absolutely hillarious!!

Hear hear.....Let's just be friends through the rest of the weekend. I wouldn't mind you guys beating the Mets, either now or whenever the game is played, and as well as the Brewers.

EDIT: Did not know you were a Brewers fan......Boo to you sir! I MEAN I LOVE CHICAGO! Let's go Cubs in both series!!
  • Dempster gets the nod in Game 1 of the playoffs.

So who pitches game 2? Z or Harden?

My vote would be for Harden!!!

remember when i liked the cubs, well i don't either...c'mon you threw your crap against the mets give us the same crap. if we win we win.
  • this is scary. who do we use in the 7th inning? Samardzija (sp?) ... a guy who is in his first year in the bigs? Gaudin hasn't been getting it done either. My vote would be for Sean Marshall and Samardzija splitting time... and it would be perfect if the starters could go 7 innings so we don't have to worry about it.

our "crap" players split the series and SHOULD have won 3 out of 4

We more than did our part. We took 2/4 and got you tied in the wild card now, it's on you now.

Agreed, the only bullpen guys I feel confident with in the playoffs are Marmol and Wood. Hopefully the starters can go 7.

Your starters aren't going seven in this series, except maybe Marquis, the others are on 75-80 pitch counts. Of course that would be par for the course for Dempster on the road. Either way, you did do half of your part, and the Brewers did theirs, so it really just comes to winning three games behind the three s's.
