Agreed!
New Rule:
The Cubs are not allowed to acquire ANYONE who's ever played for the White Sox ever again.
Also, they need to rest old man Edmounds a bit. He's been ice cold of late and I can't even think of how many times he's hit into a double play in the last week+.
I think Reed Johnson needs to be playing a whole lot more.0 -

Guzman looked like he had some good stuff last night. A little bitt out of control but his ball was moving.
Teams that are out of it can be the most dangerous.
How bout Double play Lee? I am ready to see Micah Houfpour (sp?) at first and rest the big man a bit.
Agree with Howry. He is looking like Wuertz. Bring him in when we are down by 4-6 runs only."All the money you make will never buy back your soul" Bob Dylan

Yeah! The Reds knocked us out in 2004. A team with nothing to lose can take more risks.
I am going to St. Louis for the first time next week. It should be interesting since they are now pretty much out of it but would love to be a thorn in our side."All the money you make will never buy back your soul" Bob Dylan

Its gotten so predictable that even my wife can call it when he'll hit into another fucking double play. Just like last night. As I just shake my head in shame, and slam another beer.0 -

Yep, wasn't he sitting 2-0 after he walked two guys straight or something, and swung after a pitch low and in?
C'mon DLee! Even a little leaguer knows to sit on that pitch! Between Lee and Edmounds, if there is a guy on first with less than two outs...you know what's coming!0 -

Yeah, and you know ol' Dustbag would want nothing more than to play spoiler against the Cubs!0 -

Dude... D Lee lasered that ball... he can't direct where it goes after he hits it. If it were a few feet either side of the 3rd basemen it would have been a double. He was just unlucky on that play.
That being said, I think switching Ramirez to the 3rd spot makes sense. DLee probably won't ever regain his 2005 form. I think he is more of a .290/20 HR guy that would look nice in the clean up spot.
We got VERY lucky this year that Derosa, Soto, and Theriot stepped up.
Without those guys over-performing this would be an average team.Everything not forbidden is compulsory and eveything not compulsory is forbidden. You are free... free to do what the government says you can do.0 -

I concur. Better now then October like last year.
Brewers could have gained some ground on us. I am glad they are playing bad too. The division could be decided on playing head to head."All the money you make will never buy back your soul" Bob Dylan

The odd thing is, just before this losing streak, the Cubs were playing some of their best baseball of the entire season. Then dropping 5 in a row at Wrigley where they had been unbeatable. Getting swept by the Astros, two of which were shutouts right? Not good.
But yeah, Brewers were looking pretty bad as well.
What the fuck is the deal with Zambrano though? He told Rothchild he was done after 5 innings Tuesday, then he fucking no-shows his MRI today and no one has heard from him. Is he just making excuses cause he's been so shitty recently.0 -
Sadly we are doing everything we possibly can to hand over the division. Fortunately enough the Brewers don't want it.Alpine Valley 6/26/98, Alpine Valley 10/8/00, Champaign 4/23/03, Chicago 6/18/03, Alpine Valley 6/21/03, Grand Rapids 10/3/04

Yeah man he got good wood on it, and hit it hard, but that still doesn't excuse how many DPs he's in into this year. And how unclutch he's been with RISP. As mca said, he could have waited on a better pitch as well.
Obviously not blaming the loss on him, that distinction I would have given to Bob Can't get a fucking guy out Howry0 -

What did Len say tonight, Cubs had won 13 out of their last 14 road games? So lets hope this road trip is just more of the same of that. Kick the shit out of the Reds and Cardinals and get healthy.0 -

i'm sure he would.
if they can wake him up long enough.
he appears to be asleep in the dugout for half of the games.nice shirt0 -
Just a fucking pathetic effort tonight. Luckily Ned Yost is an idiot. Brewers were up 2-1 and CC could only go 7. Who does he bring in in the 8th? GAGne. First batter is Giles who hits a bomb, 2-2, now in the 9th, go Padres.Alpine Valley 6/26/98, Alpine Valley 10/8/00, Champaign 4/23/03, Chicago 6/18/03, Alpine Valley 6/21/03, Grand Rapids 10/3/04
