Have you tried downloading a different internet browser?
No - even that is a little hi-tech for me :o (which is why I love my user friendly mac ;) ) Do you recommend one? I've heard firefox is a good one

I've had some problems with the automatic updates, but there are some real design flaws in the MAC OS that hurt efficiency, in my opinion. When you're trying to open a file from an application on a PC, there is a lot of other things you can do functionally such as delete and rename files. You can't do that from the applications easily on a MAC.

I would have to agree with this

Macintosh computers are nothing more than a Unix based OS ran on basic computer parts. They're a bit overpriced but.. They do have less problems because of the OS.

Microsoft just has too many bugs and holes to be called a good OS

I like OS X and I've been using it over a year and a half

I use both too. Macbook Pro for home/travel, and a PC at work. I will never go back to a PC. Not just the OS, but also the service, the integration of the software and hardware, the updates, the extended warranty... It is most definitely worth the extra cash to put down on a Mac, in my opinion. And I was a skeptic for the longest time.

Firefox is really good, but from the looks of it the newer versions are just for Windows. I use Internet Explorer most of the time, but it supposibly isn't very secure. I've heard good things about Opera, but I've personally never used it.

I use the newest version of firefox as my primary browser. I've had a mac tower G5 for years, and it's held up really well, aside from memory and H/D upgrades.

Thanks for the info! It's only happened a few times where I've needed to access a website and had issues...so I usually just did it the next day at work (have a pc there). If it continues to be an issue, I'll try downloading something else.

iTunes is enough of a reason not to get too excited about MACs. What a horrible program that is.

I don't like to categorize or organize my files in the same uniform manner as the masses.

I also like to be able to move them around at will without them being tethered or tied to one computer or certain devices.

mac for the lamens, pc for the geeks...I'm a geek and don't see any use for mac other than video and audio, and I don't do neither of those at a level that a pc doesn't work just fine for. the multitude of things I do with my pc aren't really possible with a mac, business especially. To each there own, I think the debate is a mute point, it's personal preference.

i use both... and both have issues and problems.

like for instance i cannot connect my mac to an A0 plotter we have on our ethernet network... just wont accept it.

    pc installed it within sceonds.

but overall i'd always choose a mac... looks, stability, flow, security online, etc.

and although you can get Adobe CS on the pc, i've had a go on it and it was clunky... thats my standard response about mac v's pc... everything on a pc is clunky... on a mac its smooth and sexy like.... its the barry white of computers.

what, I'm just saying it's about preference, ability, etc....I can do more on my pc than anyone I know can on a mac. it's limiting for someone that has a broad spectrum of needs.

I'd take a linux laptop over a mac anyday.

oh, and I'm not knocking mac's, I like them, I'm talking strickly from a functionality for my needs standpoint.
