I gave up my Mac 3 years ago for Windows.. 2 PCs, XP then Vista..

I really liked Vista at first.. After 5 months of using it, what a piece of shit!

Got a Mac today.. So much more user friendly. So much less bullshit.. Windows just makes you feel alienated from the cyberworld..

I pretended to like Windows for 3 years.. made myself think it was good if not better.. fuck that! Windows Vista is like Amy Winehouse... You know Microsoft is working on Windows Seven for 2010 already. They finally realized what a shit operating system they created.

I use both on a daily basis and it's really about the same. Windows has its problems and so do MACs. They're just different problems.

I agree. I love my mac! The only thing that annoys me is that not all websites are compatible with safari. Other than that, I adore it!

  • I switched to a Mac a year and a half ago and I will never go back to a PC. However, I was very disappointed with Apple a last week with the switch over to mobile me. I was without email for 7 days and the only explanation they offered was that they were having trouble with a server...this after they told us it was just scheduled maintenance and would be up in no time. Other than that little hiccup I Love my Mac. Never again will I own a PC.

I love mac's...been using them since before they were cool. Unfortunetly I had to buy a PC laptop for engine tuning my car and I hate this thing everyday but for now I am stuck.

I bought a Macbook Air for my sister and that thing is insane !

I love my PC and have no troubles.
  • I just got a Macbook for college. It hasn't gotten enough "real world" (as in outside of me testing it in my room) use yet for me to make a definitive decision, but I agree that it is very user friendly. As a long-time Windows user though, sometimes I feel like it is "too" user friendly. Like they make it difficult to do things that "most people" won't do to make it easier for "most people" to do stuff that they will do. Know what I mean?

with my previous laptop (powerbook) I had to use firefox for a few websites (ebay for example). Now, with my new macbook, everything works on safari.
So, for those who have problems opening webiste through safari, try with firefox

I've had some problems with the automatic updates, but there are some real design flaws in the MAC OS that hurt efficiency, in my opinion. When you're trying to open a file from an application on a PC, there is a lot of other things you can do functionally such as delete and rename files. You can't do that from the applications easily on a MAC.

I would have to agree with this

Macintosh computers are nothing more than a Unix based OS ran on basic computer parts. They're a bit overpriced but.. They do have less problems because of the OS.

Microsoft just has too many bugs and holes to be called a good OS

I like OS X and I've been using it over a year and a half

I use both too. Macbook Pro for home/travel, and a PC at work. I will never go back to a PC. Not just the OS, but also the service, the integration of the software and hardware, the updates, the extended warranty... It is most definitely worth the extra cash to put down on a Mac, in my opinion. And I was a skeptic for the longest time.

Firefox is really good, but from the looks of it the newer versions are just for Windows. I use Internet Explorer most of the time, but it supposibly isn't very secure. I've heard good things about Opera, but I've personally never used it.

I use the newest version of firefox as my primary browser. I've had a mac tower G5 for years, and it's held up really well, aside from memory and H/D upgrades.

Thanks for the info! It's only happened a few times where I've needed to access a website and had issues...so I usually just did it the next day at work (have a pc there). If it continues to be an issue, I'll try downloading something else.

iTunes is enough of a reason not to get too excited about MACs. What a horrible program that is.
