I'm allergic to some ingredients in the vaccine, so no flu shots for me. However, I am inclined to agree with animal on this one.....I don't really see a point in getting one when I am not prone to the flu that often. I get it once every 3-5 years, and when I do, it's not that long-lasting. I'm 22, relatively healthy, and am not vulnerable like other age groups. No point in getting one when you don't get the flu.

dude....I can guarantee you I know how the immune system works. and nobodys immune system can fight off every virus. your immune system can only fight off the viruses that you've already had and thus built up the immunity for. you get exposed to someone with a cold or flu (being that they're airborn viruses) chances are you are going to get it, even if you are "healthy." no one has a foolproof immune system.

though like someone has already said washing your hands well and often will limit your exposure to viruses

The cold symptoms (and severity) is how well or poorly your immune system reacts. That's what a cold or the flu is...your body's reaction not the viruis itself. When I get colds they're pretty much done in two days and it flushes out over the remainder of the week quite rapidly.

I haven't had the flu in over 7 years...haven't had a cold in almost as long.

I actually shared a spoon with my niece (daycare germs) who ended up giving my brother a week off work...he could barely talk and was bed ridden.

Another guest at dinner also caught it that night and was leveled. I got nothing, and I played with her for most of the night.

I say score one for being savage.

  • the work if the CDC correctly identifies the strains of flu that will be prominent this particular year.
  • Whoever wants my shots this year are definitely welcome to them, I'm gonna pass again this year.

It's meant for unhealthy people with weak immune systems.

The only reason you get sick from a cold is because of a weak immune system.

For colds, I'll opt for the healthy natural route as as indication of my overall health, and not take the toxic crutch injection.
    You are so hardcore...lol

I have never gotten the shot..not even when i was pregnant. I also don't give it to my child.

And I don't feel right when you're gone away
