I have been on this out of my mind kick for the past year! I looked on the song page list and noticed that this song was only played twice. It is amazing I was talking to a lot of fans at lollapalooza last year and they had no Idea what I was talking about when I brought it up. I would love to see it make a setlist in 2008. I figured I would just put it out there is anybody else with me on this? For those of you who don't know what it is it was released as the B-side on the not for you single!
Yellow Ledbetter is my least favorite song. Because as soon as you hear the first note you know it is time to say goodbye.

wasn't it just an improv, i don't think there's a studio version of it b/c the b-side is the live version from one of the shows.

I thought that too but when I saw it was played a second time. I thought maybe not who knows. It still would be great to hear it live.

I think it was more than an improv since it was played twice and they were pretty much identical. They knew what they were doing. I want it live this tour.
I shit and I stink. I'm real, join the club.

A friend, he called, I didn't mention a thing. The last thing he said was, "Be sound". Sound. I contemplated an awful thing, I hate to admit. I just thought those would be such appropriate last words. But I'm still here.

there have been improv's played more than once though.... dunno if you'd still call it an improv per say but i dunno what else you'd call em.

i think it was an improv that they probably just liked, so they brought it back. if they somehow brought that out on tour, i would be shocked...more shocked than if ed played bugs.

I have never heard this one before. Anyone able to post it, or send it to me?

Not sure if that's allowed for this type of song, but if so, my email is dar83win@yahoo.com

And even though I haven't heard it yet...sure, let's hear it on this tour! :)

in response to a request for the song, Ed said it was a "one-time thing" (although, obviously, it was played twice) and that he's "no longer in that head-space". thankfully so :)

Ed has given the same response several times over the years,...

That sucks!! You really don't like that song? I used to believe Ed until I heard Dirty Frank live at the Gorge in 2006. Thats a shitty song we will never play that was said lots of times.

i never said i don't like the song, i simply said it's good to know Ed is no longer in that head-space where he feels the need to sing a song like Out Of My Mind :)

i, along with everyone else at the Vic, missed out on Dirty Frank - still, i suspect the odds for hearing Dirty Frank played live again are MUCH better than hearing Out Of My Mind live again ;)
