Yuki will still be way ahead of the game so you go ahead and spay her. It's not common for dogs who've been spayed to have breast cancer.

I adopted Tess when she was a little over a year old and had had a litter of puppies, so I didn't have a chance to spay her sooner. She developed an aggressive form of breast cancer when she was about 11 and was gone in the blink of an eye. My vet says he has only seen a few cases in dogs who are spayed after they've been in season. But dogs who have never been in heat have no risk of breast cancer.

Believe me, my little girl suffered a lot and there was nothing we could do for her.

I have a bad habit of being kinda preachy.

I'm just a big advocate of spay/neuter, not just to reduce overpopulation but because it's so important for your dog's health.

The health think is a biggy for me. We didn't get Molly done until this year (She's 3 now :) ) and when they got in there to whip everything out she had a nasty infection in her womb! So glad we did it when we did otherwise we might have lost her. It would have been devastating!!

    Good girl.
She probably won't be too perky for a day or two.

She is so beautiful. How big will she get? I remember those puppy pictures and she was little.

I don't think she'll get too big. The mother was about 45/50 lbs.

She's almost 8 months old now.

Just got off the phone with a foster and might be adopting dog #3 next week. Our oldest dog, Lucy, is 14 and is not real thrilled that we adopted a puppy, PJ, last year so we want another dog so he'll have someone to play with. It's a girl and I'm trying to think of Pearl Jam related names but my hubs is shooting them all down! Need some good ideas.
Are we getting something out of this all-encompassing trip?

Seems my preconceptions are what should have been burned...

Have any of you guys tried putting on the "DOGTV" channel???? I saw that there was a free preview today so I put it on. Doobie and Matty were fixated on the ducks in the lake swimming around! Now they are on high alert at the dogs running on tv!!! This is the funniest thing! Try it!

I doubt Norm would even be moved though! :D
