Aww... I'm quoting it so everyone has to see it three times - its that good. :)

I love puppy pictures... they lose that "puppy" look so fast! But the adult look isn't too bad either. My dog's now 10.5 so he's getting the old man look though... that I kind of don't like seeing, but since he gets around pretty well still I can't complain!

Of course you're getting snow and we're in the mid 90s before humidity, so we're staying inside this weekend for completely different reasons!! :D

Here you go, look at it one more time...I know exactly how you feel...puppies make your heart warm, no matter how hard the snow falls...gorgeous shot, thanks for sharing it

Its Moonee Beach, just north of Coffs Harbour...it really is the most beautiful of places...but dont tell anyone. Dogs are still allowed on most beaches, and there are a few leash free dog beaches as well...

I know it well. A mate of mine lived at Corindi Beach for about 6 years and I'd get up there every chance I got. I love Arrawarra. One of my favourite places in the world

    Aww!

I adopted a Husky mix named Layla (after the Eric Clapton song) yesterday. She's so beautiful. Apparently she's scared of storms, so she stayed inside and cuddled next to me the whole night.

I thought this might be the place to ask, so here it goes:

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep a dog out of the litter box? I keep finding it with the lid completely removed, and I'm pretty sure it's not the cat.

I've considered putting a small "doggy door" kind of thing on the door to the room where the litter box is located for the cat, but I do not own the place where I live so I don't want to go to the trouble of rigging a door.

I don't want to keep our cat locked in a room all day with his poop palace just to keep Zeke from getting into it.

Right now, my best idea is to put a litter box together out of one of those Rubbermaid storage totes and cut a hole in the lid on top. I think the cat could still get in and out, and Zeke wouldn't be able to get his mischevious snout in there.

So, pet owners... got any other suggestions?

Been MIA for a few weeks, my hubby was diagnosed with a High Grade Soft Tissue Sarcoma a few weeks ago, a very rare serious cancer, less then 1% of all cancers. Today we found out that the tumor was contained and small enough that they don't think he will need radiation. I feel like I've been given the best gift there is ever! I'm the happiest I've been in decades and I now KNOW what's really important in life. I hope all is ok with everyone...will get new pics up of the boy soon. He has been freaking out, he knew that something was wrong when his hikes stopped and no one played fetch with him. All is back to normal tomorrow!

That's great news! Glad to hear you caught it before it spread/grew to the point of needing radiation. Nothing like a life-altering scare to put things in perspective, eh? Glad its looking better!!

This thread ain't going anywhere. I hope.

And before the site goes down for "just a few days" I wanted to post something for the dog people - some of you might know a friend and I started a small online literary magazine, Hot Valley Writers (because we live in the San Fernando Valley where it's really hot) and it's been up and running for a couple years. The new issue came out yesterday. We've been lucky to have plenty of forum members write things for HVW, too.

But our Fall Issue will have an ALL DOG THEME. We would like fiction, non-fiction, and/or poetry about DOGS. And we'd love to use photos of your dogs (past and present, too). Submission guidelines are on the site. Check out the site, any questions, please PM me. Or send a message to the site.

But please please please think of contributing something. It'll be great to see how many PJ dog fans we can have in the issue.

    Thanks.

    When is your deadline?

Look on the site for the deadline - I'm guessing it's mid-August (my partner Joe is the one who figures out all the nuts and bolts of the site, I mostly edit). If you check in the archives you'll see tons of pictures of Joe's fabulous poodle Oso. And if you look at the archives, I bet you'll find tons of PJ song titles...

I think it'll be fun for everybody to write/post pix of their dogs - it'll be sort of like another kind of version of this wonderful thread.
