This might be an unhealthy way to do it but it works.

I've loss more than 15 pounds the last month or so, simple cutting down my eating consumption from 2-3 full meals a day to only 1 and half per day.
So I went from being 185 in August to now 166-170. But I've feeling really sick though, and been getting a lot of hunger insomnia and stomach aches.

I definitely don't want to gain any weight over the holidays. I'll be happy to maintain. Today I'm at 118 and I'd like to see 110 by April 1st. So I guess I'm in, too!
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.

um, yeah, that's not good for you. Your body goes into starvation mode. You should eat smaller portions more often.

have you checked out caloriecount.com? Yes, it's tedious, and what works for some may not work for others, but... it worked for me. You can punch in your weight and the weight you'd like to see at whatever date you choose and it tells you how many calories you can consume each day.

  • also, I think in December we should do a fitness challenge thread.

for some reason around the holidays IS when i usually dedicate and actually MAKE the most changes for the better. more than likely b/c my birthday is right before the holidays start, and my birthday has always been a bit of my personal NYE....time of reassessment, goal setting, etc.

As I stated in my post, I'll be going on The Cleanse the weekend after Thanksgiving. http://forums.pearljam.com/showthread.php?t=308711

Again, if anyone is a doctor, in the medical field, or has done the Master Cleanse before please PM me as I'd like to be prepared. Much appreciated. Thanks.

I'm going onto my fourth week at weight watchers, dropping 2 pounds a week like clockwork. I know all the info is out there for free, but I like the meetings and I am working on portion control and a healthier lifestyle all together. I figure after all the books and stuff I did on my own only to stop after a few weeks or even days was just killing me. This is working, the only Weight Watcher food I eat is the sweets and ice cream. They taste great and are the perfect size. It's getting much easier to eyeball my food and I am getting into a pretty healthy way of eating. I don't deny myself anything...wine anyone? But I only have 19 points a day. Thats not a lot because I only have about 15 pounds total to lose. I'm going for 125. Then learn how to maintain, the hardest part I think!
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!
  • I'm glad this thread popped back up!

I just got my Wii back from being fixed, and now I can weigh in on my wii fit again.. haha.. is it sad that I keep track of things via wii?

I haven't had time to go to the gym in ages, but I have continued to lose without the gym. Which is hardly motivation to go back. Ha. I feel better when I am working out though.

I think I'd like to drop 15 more lbs and then just maintain. Hopefully by next fall I will be pregnant. It's a HUGE fear of mine to get pregnant and consequently gain a significant amount of weight. My best defense is to get into kick ass shape now, and then be able to drop it quickly afterwards. It can only help to be in good shape prior, I assume.

    that's awesome - congrats! :D

that's the way to go, slow and steadily...and absolutely, the more you do it...portion control, enjoying healthy foods, becomes second nature. and i hear ya on the wine, exactly! have to set up healthy eating that is realistic, b/c otherwise...what's the point? i try to be pretty regimented about my food during the week, altho still have wine...and a bit more permissive on the weekends, though not TOO much...until i reach my goal weight. i have my birthday and all the holidays...and you bet, i shall enjoy those days! i am hoping to reach my goal by valentine's day. :) maintaining Is the hardest part, and that's why i am where i am, haha....but lesson learned and now i know....

You don't have to gain a ton of weight when you're pregnant, although God knows I did  Concentrating on healthy eating is better than worying about calories and such, especially if you're hoping to concieve. When you are pregnant, diet can be a nightmare as a lot of foods can be off-limits or restricted. Even healthy foods like certain fish, etc.

Being in good shape now will certainly help you stay that way. Getting into a good routine with food and exercise is a good habit to gain (I wish I could get it).

If you do get pregnant, I'd leave the diet sheet at the door though :)

So the best thing I have learned form WW so far is to plan your meals. I swear it makes a huge difference. Sitting there starving and trying to figure out what to eat is SABOTAGE. I get up about 15 minutes early every day and get my meals together. It's been three weeks, so becoming a good habit!
