Ladies, ? about self tanners

Okay, so its mid summer, and I'm looking a lot like Casper the friendly ghost. I don't "go tanning", because I refuse to crisp myself into skin cancer, but I am looking for a self tanner that WILL NOT turn me oompa loompa orange.
I am scared to just go out and try something because I am so pale that if I turn orange it will be REALLY obvious.
I am going camping on a lake/beach in Michigan in a month and I do not want blind people with my fierce white skin.. please help!

Michigan has plenty of fierce white skinned people Where are you staying in Michigan, what lake and such?
The best thing I found was just laying out in the sun for a little bit. Not long enough to get crispy fried, but just long enough to get pink. Eventually turned somewhat tan after about 3-4 days.
Good luck though, and if you find something that works....share the knowledge!!
all my hopes, anger, pride and shame...
On Lake Charlevoix on the Boyne City side of it. We camp out there with my husband's parents every summer.. It's so beautiful.
Amazing! Have a great time. Charlevoix and the surrounding area is my favorite spot in the whole state. I love taking the trip out to Torch Lake too.

Some guys think it's girly I guess. I have known guys who did the airbursh tan

I'd have no problem getting a little color on my arms/legs/face from being outside, but I want to tan to wear a bikini, and I'm just not going to lay out on my roof top deck in a bikini because its shared with the other people in my building, and thats a little much for me. So I need a natural looking lotion. I will try jergens for sure! Thanks guys!

sure, a bit of color is nice, but i don't think necessary to be attractive. especially if you are quite fair, i personally don't think a 'tan' is worth the risks. beyond that, not a big fan of the self-tanners, i am all for natural, whatever is natural for your skin. however, i will agree that the jergens is probably one of the best, and less pricey options, out there if you really want to warm up your skin tone a bit. whoever said 10-15 minutes of sun a day and that's good....i kinda agree. getting a moderate amount of sun exposure, a little at a time, i think is a good thing. just don't bake yourself. me, i just stay white. it is rare that i allow myself to get even a wee bit of color, i usually avoid the sun at the peak times for gtting color, but sure on occasion i get a very light tan.
ooooooooooooo...congrats on the bikini! i know it's been a goal of yours, so kudos! sure, a wee bit of color will go great with your new bikini body!
Let's just breathe...
I am myself like you somehow
Yeah thats why I would be doing it. I am already very nervous about wearing a bikini for the very first time ever, and I feel like I'd fit in a little more if I had a little color at least to make myself not stand out. I don't really want any attention drawn to me, and the fact that I've really never seen anyone in a bikini as stark white as I am. Its more to take the edge off. I'm not looking to win Miss Hawaiian Tropic.. hahaha.
I work PT at Bath and Body Works. Try the Solar Power Self Tanner, you may have to buy it online since it's probably no longer in the stores, but you may be able to find some in stores. It's in a spray so you can apply it to the hard to reach areas like the back. Just once over should give you stuble color and then you can re apply every three days to maintain, if you keep spraying more each day it will eventually turn you really dark. You probably want to just do it every three or four days. It costs $15 so get one of those $10 of $30 coupons and buy two and save yourself $5 on each.
Let me know how it works for you!
hooray for skin cancer!
with all the problems in the world..............
and i notice the pasty white people are the ones who say this
the tube of glue look isn't happening lol
I stomp my feet and squirm and try to run off when my wife goes to put sunblock on me. I hate putting any kind of lotion on.

everyone would prefer to be in the sun (and I do agree that small amounts of sun are probably healthy) but who has time to go to the beach? I spend a lot of my free time outside in the process of things, but I find I never really get a "tan" unless I lie out on the beach. Plus, tanning requires wearing a bathing suit in public, which I personally have vowed never to do again.
