Ugh...sometimes I wish I would have stuck with one sport...but nobody wanted me playing football because of my height and it's use in other sports...but dammit, it was the most fun.
Funny thing is, I never once had one lasting injury or ever missed a game in football.
I'm sure one would have come if I played longer, but still, I find it funny considering basketball gave me multiple surgeries, 5 or 6, and my knees drained plenty of times, and plenty of cortizone shots.
My ankles are OK considering the multiple sprains I've had for each one. My knees are starting to get worse, though. It's that numbing, achy, pain. It sucks.
I can already think of a recent conversation that you've had with someone you just met and I don't even know you. Ready, here goes:
Random Stranger: Wow, you're tall!!! How tall are you?
Evil Merlin: I'm 6 foot 9.
Random Stranger: You must get people asking you that a lot.
Evil Merlin: Yes, I do.
Random Stranger: Did you play basketball?
Evil Merlin: Yes, I did. They actually chained me up in a gym with a basketball because they wanted me to get better. They only fed me peanut butter sandwiches and they told me to drink out of the water fountain. They didn't realize, though, I'm allergic to Peanut Butter so that's why I'm skinny.
That's the conversation, well, except for the last part. I do mix it up a little to mess with people when I get that question.I'll ride the wave where it takes me.0 -

Haha. Yes, on one hand it is strange having your wife double as your bodyguard, but on the other hand, watching her stomp some ginormous dude into a puddle is always a turn on.Idaho's Premier Outdoor Writer

I've said, "No but I played _______."
I've inserted: water polo, chess, on the math team, field hockey, archery, among other.
They normally look like someone has just stolen their Christmas present when you come out with something like that.
Next time someone asks you how tall you are just say 81 inches and watch their eyes role back in their head as they try and do the math.I'll ride the wave where it takes me.0 -

LOL I guess I've always given people too much credit. I'll say 206 cm or 2060 mm, just to throw the metric curve on them. I guess inches would work as well haha.0 -
