My friend was going to see Eddie last night. Since he was in Vegas, I gave him 5 Grand to gamble with. I told him I wanted it all to go on Black. Bastard! PhillyCrownOfThorns-11-2-12
Do you make plain strawberry or do you add rhubarb to it?
yes, pumpkin is a squash but pumpkin pie f'ing ROCKS!!! I make a bad-ass one myself.
For fruit pies - apple is my fave then blueberry. I have a tough time with other berries or fruits. The fruit tends to be slimey....
believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all!
Try adding tapioca starch as a thickener- those berries release a lot of liquid as it bakes. And tapioca starch will thicken without having the cornstarch/flour taste.
I'll try the tapioca next time. I found a recipe that calls for cornstarch so I bought that.
I tried making a raspberry and strawberry pie last night. It was okay, but it needs a few improvements. Like maybe tapioca to thicken the liquid. The cornstarch didn't work as well as I'd hoped.
I'm going to be trying a new one each week until Thanksgiving so I can get it just right.

I was at a birthday party this summer and someone rather new to baking had made a blueberry pie. She had used tapioca pudding mix instead of tapioca. lol
Her and I were laughing for hours. The pie tasted yummy, it was just runny. lol
I also want to try a cranberry/pecan type pie. I want it to taste like homemade cranberry relish/dressing. You know with cranberries, nuts, orange.
With maybe a press-in graham type crust.
yummy, I think

Coincidentally, I just made an apple pie 2 nights ago from some apples my girlfriend and I picked.

I like to smash my pie with vanilla ice cream. Mix it right up. Sometimes we'll eat just that for dinner.
