Anyone have a favorite fruit pie?

I had a great piece of peach pie yesterday and I want to make something good this weekend. :)

I'm thinking of making some kind of mixed berry pie. Maybe blackberries, strawberries and blue berries? Has anyone made one of these?

What's the best combination?

Or, maybe I'll make little pastries or tarts. I have to find something new!! :)

    is pumpkin a fruit? it has seeds.. Because I love me some pumpkin pie.

    I think pumpkin is a squash.

    Do you make plain strawberry or do you add rhubarb to it?

    I love the idea of a blueberry, raspberry, blackberry pie. That sounds delicious. I've made a cheesecake with those berries on top, but never a berry pie

    That's the other combination I was considering. It sounds good doesn't it? :)

    I need to learn how to make cheese cake. I love eating it at restaurants but I've never made one myself.

    Pumpkin's a squash...but it's the only pie I like.

    I make pumpkin, lemon, lime, and apple already. That's why a new type would have to be a berry pie, a cherry pie, or pecan/walnut...

    Mixed Berry pie like you suggested is the best.

    In La Push I had something called a bumbleberry pie, which I know had strawberry in it but there was other berries as well.

    I'm just not sure what they were. :o

    Not that it matters! :) It was YUMMMMMMMMM!!!! :D

    I guess I'm traditional here - nothing is better than good apple pie. It should have a top crust on it.

    Well, the berries that looked the best at the store yesterday were the strawberries and raspberries so that's the kind of pie I'll be making today.

    Thanks for all the suggestions. :)

    I'm sure I'm be making some of the other types over the next few weeks. I'm interested in finding the best one before Thanksgiving! :D

    Try adding tapioca starch as a thickener- those berries release a lot of liquid as it bakes. And tapioca starch will thicken without having the cornstarch/flour taste.
    You can find it at most asian markets.


    And apple is my favorite.
