It should be, but you still gotta rent a hall for 200 people... invitations are expensive as fuck plus the stamps... booze gets costly (I know this because I also have a large Italian family :D)... a friggin' cake... it's a lot of bullshit and the nickel-and-dime shit is what really pissed me off.

As far as dinner goes, we went to Alan Albert's, a steakhouse right on the strip across from the Monte Carlo. The guys there did a FANTASTIC job with us and the food was great. We just got with them and did an abbreviated menu, plus an assortment of appetizers and a cake from a local place and it was about $60 per person (without the bar tab).

true, true.. I know it will all add up.

My Fiance's mom passed away. His dad lives in Europe. He does not really have much family. That is why I want to stay away from the traditional type wedding.
it will be us paying for the wedding with some help from my family. We are avoiding a rehearsal dinner, limos, and a few other things that go along with a traditional wedding.
I know it will end up being pricey but I am hoping, if we plan well enough, it will work out.
I am NOT a PLANNER, so i stress toomuch. I dont really want to pay for a wedding planner.
This is gonna end up being alot more work than I intended. LOL

I hear you on the planning part... I used to do automotive event management for like 8 years and it's such a pain in the ass. And there was no way I was going to pay someone a couple grand to plan it. Definitely start early on it, though... that's one piece of advice. Don't pay anyone to do address labels either. That's what Word and Excel and mail merges are for. :)

no, I have a great computer for all that kind of stuff.
Its going to be simple but hopefully classy.
I am also thinking of cutting down the guest list for the VEGAS part.
    make it alot cheaper.

    thanks for your advice!

I got married at the Mandalay Bay. It was really nice. But I was only married for 13 months. :(

My friend got married at the Venetian and is still married.

So based on this scientific survey, the divorce rate is 50% -- right around the national average.

From an "attendee" standpoint, there's nothing wrong with that!! :D

It's a tough call, though...do you go with the place where Joan Collins got married (Little White Chapel) or go with Billy Ray Cyrus' choice (Graceland)?

anyone here of this?....maybe this will be another option for you...?..sounds alot cheaper then planning a huge wedding at home...

  • My sister got married just outside of Vegas at Red Rock Canyon. It was a small, family only kind of affair, but it was awesome! It came complete with free limo rides fom Vegas and an authentic and extremely overweight Texas preacher!!

    I suggest!
I'll end up alone like I began...

There are incredible restaurants in Vegas. If you are looking for something very high end, look at Joel Robichon. I think it is at the MGM, but I could be wrong. Supposed to be incredible. I believe it has 3 Michelin stars. One of the best restaurants in the country.

Yes, I just responded to your IMs.

Vegas weddings can be fantastic or cheesy. It depends on what you want to get out of it. I know a guy who did a drive-thru wedding in Vegas dressed as gangsters. It was cheesy. Obviously, that was what he was going for.

The main thing is you should make sure you are getting what you want, of course. So research it just as much as you would research a non-Vegas wedding.

I don't know if they offer different packages and areas but the ceremony I saw was in the Venezia Tower pool area. It had a beautiful little stone terrace with a really nice fountain... rose petals scattered on the ground. I think it's right off a big room??? Very classy and the Venezia Tower is -the- place to stay.

I'm sure if you called someone there, they could email you more detailed pictures of the place.
