So does all this mean Cleveland and Atlanta are the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the league? Anyway, great game. I was hoping the series would go 7 but when the Celtics turn up the D, the Lakers begin to wilt and stop moving the ball. I am happy for Ray, Kevin, and Paul. They deserve rings...
No way, the Hawks are even a top ten teams in the league (top 5 in the East though). But they are young and talented though, I think Boston was just getting their feet wet in those two series, the Cavs series was more dangerous and probably HELP Boston's collectively. And after winning in Detroit, Boston played like the 66-16 regular season Celtics.

...and remember Ray Allen was just terrible in those series and half of the East Finals. But so far in all 4 Finals vs. Lakers, Allen have been great including Game 3's lost.

Yeah, I was just kidding about Atlanta and Cleveland. This is the first playoff run for these Celtics and it took a few series to really gel is all...

  • I think the Hawks are up and coming. They would actually be a good western conference team with their style.

As said earlier, those earlier rounds really helped the Celtics grow together into a better playoff team.

I've seen Odom's Jeckyl and Hyde routine from game to game... but, never from half to half. What the fuck happened?
A 20+ point lead... 18 at the half... and all of that accomplished with only 3 (free throw) points for Kobe... the Lakers had it won. Work Kobe into the game plan in the second half... Boston will eventually have to lay off the double team and that will allow Kobe to score. If they don't adjust, keep Gasol and Odom rolling. Lakers win Game 4 and even up the series. Simple.
    ...
What do they do? They try to force Kobe into the game, falling right into the Celtic defensive strategy. Odom and Gasol fall off of the map... the fucking wheels come off the wagon... and the fucking Lakers choke.
Was it Phil's game plan... to completely abandon a successful plan? Or was it Kobe, trying to get into the game? Who's calling the shots down there?

  • Will love it when Boston wraps this thing up. Kobe's thinkin' all that 'I wanna be traded, we need better players, Bynum is no good' banter will go away if he just wins a title. Well too bad, now all he'll be remembered for this year will be that exact banter, and the fact they choked when it mattered. But at least he got his MVP right?

You know what... as much as I hate the Celtics... almost as much as I hate the Yankees... Fuck it. i don't care if Boston wins.
I see a bright side... all this I hear about Kobe's coronation into the the seat of Jordan... the guys a punk. He's got skills, no doubt... but, he's still a punk.
Also... I really don't want to see short, stocky, latino males with shaved heads and that roll of fat on the back of their necks, dressed in Laker #24 or #8 jerseys and long black shorts with white socks pulled up to their thighs... setting fire to LAPD patrol cars, KABC News vans and looting 99cents Only stores in El Sereno.

Maybe the funniest part of all is that it's the guy that Kobe ripped apart in his parking lot rant that they need the most. A healthy Bynum would have changed the entire series. He's the only guy they have that can defend the basket. I think it's karma that he went down and now they really need him.

I think my favorite moment of the series was Allen driving right by Vujacic for that layup, with Gasol as always a step late to help. That play summed up this series. Then they show Vujacic on the bench throwing a tantrum.

    Gasol = Soft

I'm pretty sure he has heart, I've seen him play with a lot of passion. However, he is scrawny. Look at his skinny arms and the way people jostle him about in the post without even trying. He needs to hit the weight room and get stronger. Still, when he slides to the power forward spot next year and lets Bynum tangle with the centers, he'll be a beast.

  • You mean to tell me Kevin Garnett isn't scrawny? The dude won defensive player of the year and he looks like he should be on one of those 'feed the hungry infomercials' (only to paint a picture). Gasol can score and he's got some good skills, but as a seasoned vet he's been greatly unproductive on the defensive end, especially when he finally has a chance at a ring. Well he HAD a chance at a ring....

Yeah Garnett is skinny but every muscle in his body is fuking chisled! I'm certain his physical strength defies his thiness. If him and Gasol were to arm wrestle, that poor Spaniard would have everything from the elbow down torn off.

I think the Lakers have some serious decisions to make this summer. I don't see how they can play Bynum, Gasol and Odom at the same time next year. Floor spacing will be terrible if they try it. Kobe won't get the space he needs to work if the lane is always clogged with those 3 guys. Plus as we seen this series you can play a small forward on Gasol and he's not tough enough to take advantage. They need a small forward who has 3 point range and a power forward who's main focus is defense and rebounding. Small, athletic teams will destroy them if they play Odom & Gasol at the forward spots. Also Bynum only started playing well when he started getting a lot of touches. He plays a lot better defense when he's scoring. With Gasol on board there is no way Bynum will see half the shots he seen earlier this season. Bottom line is that Gasol & Odom are finesse players playing power positions.
