I really hate this show. Not because I can't stand the wife, though it is part of it, but mainly because of the amount of comments my husband and I receive due to this show airing.

Let me explain, my husband and I have no TV, so we don't catch shows like this and for a year or so we were bombarded with statements revolving around this show. Finally someone showed it to us, making us hate it by default because by this time everyone in their mother thought that it was cute that we, Jon and Kate, were married and would most certainly have to live up to the expectations of our names.

"So when will the 8 come?" Huh? "Jon and Kate plus eight, ya dig?" No. After the first time it was cute, the second time, coincidental, but after the 30th and 40th time it gets pretty mind numbing!!!!

    I guess that's just our luck :p

    Cute kids though...

I so understand what you mean! I was in 6th grade when Mork & Mindy was first on the air. If I had a penny for every time some asshole said Hey Mindi, where's Mork? I would be rich I tell ya!

I does get pretty irritating to hear the same stupid question over and over again doesn't it?

I've seen the show a few times and the wife is such a BITCH!!! I really feel for Jon, you just look in his eyes and you can see that his soul has been crushed.

She runs a tight ship no doubt but I think she has too with 8 freaking kids. Its a hard life any way you slice it. Imagine not having all the help from the TV show? Good Luck.
Oh BTW, I tried to see your pic but it did not work. I hope the other one was not really you. LOL......was it?

Running a tight ship because of the amount of kids you have is good. Being a complete overbearing bitch to your husband is not.

Exactly. Or being a control freak about everything your kids do.
Like I said I have 8 kids. I do not freak if they get their clothes dirty. I would do everything humanly possible to get gum off one of my kids favorite stuffies, not berate and belittle him.
    She is a control freak.

I don't have a problem with her having a "tight ship"...I DO have a problem with the way she treats her hubby. She blatantly mocks him, nags him, puts him down. I would NEVER want to be treated that way...who would?

I'm sorry to hear that. :( Seriously, this is one of my biggest pet peeves...I see it happen all the time...where women walk all over their husbands! I mean, I know it goes both ways, but it seems like it's almost socially acceptable for a woman to treat her spouse that way.

Well for the longest time, most of recorded history, it was completely acceptable for men to treat women as second class citizens. Now the pendulum has swung the other way as a means of compensating for the past. Neither way is really right but unfortunately that is the way our society works.

I suppose you're right. That doesn't make it justified though.

    No it definitely doesn't.

Acoustic guy, to answer your question there is still inequality between the sexes but look at how society views the demasculation of men. Look to TV as an example. In most sitcoms you have the smart sexy multi-tasking mom who is the family glue and stupid dad who just keeps making blunder after blunder. Society would be up in arms if you portrayed a woman that way.
