Did it have the marshmallows??? :o

I just cannot IMAGINE what it must be like! Just have no point of reference for it at all Pat. But I admit it fascinates me! :D

Hi Jeanie!! I do NOT like that weird sweet potato/marshmallow thingy. In fact, we didn't even have sweet taters this year...which is perfectly fine by me. We did have 3 pies though (2 pumpkin and 1 dutch apple)!

Hiya M. :) How are you?

I'm just struggling to imagine it. And I think I gotta try it just once.
It's like whenever I'm reading English books and they talk about blancmange. :D I wanna try that too!
But I don't know if I'd like it! Sounds weird!

Pumpkin Pie I have had and it was yummy! :)
    NOPE!!!

Does Australia have anything similar to the US's Thanksgiving?? I think I read/heard somewhere that Britain has 'Thanksgiving' (which I don't quite understand).

Pumpkin pie (anything pumpkin for that matter) is my favorite! YUM-O!!!

Also, my parents are going to be in NZ, Australia coming up soon...I'll send some sweet taters/marshmallow thing for them to bring you! :D

Nope. We don't have anything like Thanksgiving.
Didn't know they had something similar in Britian.

Well it's been a really long time since I had Pumpkin Pie, but I remember my aunty made it when the family moved back from Canada when I was a kid.
I should see if I can convince her to make it again. :D
I love anything pumpkin too! :)

Awesome! Your parents will love New Zealand. It's so beautiful.
And goes without saying they'll love Oz. Don't know that customs would let them in with anything home made. They're really strict here. :(

My lady's family is Italian, so I had lasagne for Tgiving. It was a first for me!

Heading to my parents' tonight; I'll get my traditional turkey tomorrow! And then I'll come back and post how awesome it was.

Things you can only say on Thanksgiving

    1. Talk about a huge breast!
    2. Tying the legs together keeps the inside moist 3. It's Cool Whip
    time!
    4. If I don't undo my pants, I'll burst!
    5. That's one terrific spread!
    6. I'm in the mood for a little dark meat.
    7. Are you ready for seconds yet?
    8. Its a little dry, do you still want to eat it?
    9. Just wait your turn, you'll get some!
    10. Don't play with your meat.
    11. Just spread the legs open and stuff it in.
    12. Do you think you'll be able to handle all the 13. I didn't expect
    everyone to come!
    14. You still have a little bit on your chin.
    15. How long will it take after you stick it in?
jesus greets me looks just like me ....

  • Monica: Well, Phoebe doesn't eat turkey...

    Joey: Phoebe!

Phoebe: Turkeys are beautiful, intelligent animals.

Joey: No, they're not. They're ugly and stupid, and delicious!

glaze turkey with a reduced (by half) mixture of butter (one stick) and 4 cups of apple cider, with a few cloves of garlic thrown in for good measure, plus some salt & pepper. cool the mixture in the fridge for a few hours. right before roasting, spread that stuff all over the turkey, then pour the remaining liquid over the top and into the roasting pan.

after the turkey's done, collect the drippings are into a shallow saucepan to make an AMAZINGLY YUMMY gravy. bring the drippings to a boil, then add your basic flour & cold water thickening mixture, adding gravy master and some sherry (NOT "cooking sherry", but the real thing). simmer until thickened, add salt & pepper to taste, and serve hot. everyone will kiss you. :)

first I hear of it..must be damn bloody low key if I missed it for 10 years!

maybe you're thinking of Guy Fawkes day aka Bonfire night, which has nothing to do with it?

  • haha... Friends had hands down the best thanksgiving episodes!

See you Jimmy (and any other stereoptypical national nick names)
Anyway, Turkey. I hate it when people throw out that old chestnut....and you'll hear it at least 37 times this Christmas again,..."I don't like turkey...it's too dry". It's covered in gravy for crying out loud, it's soaked!

if it's too dry, then youre cooking it wrong. my meat is always moist, so i doubt i'd be soaking it in gravy. :)
