Did Derek hook up with Merediths sister?
Take her home from the bar just like Meredith?
I missed the first few minutes.
Started watching just as the 3 of them were talking about how the sis was the girl from the bar and then Meredith says something about how "but shes the girl from the bar"...
Good show.
Glad my thursdays are returning to normal.

No
Lexie came up to him b/c Cristina needed a consult from Derek
and that was the 1st time he'd seen her since the bar
that was a well done deja vu moment

p.s. if someone hit a deer --which could only occur at least 30 mins to an hour outside of Seattle--by the time it got to the hospital, it would be dead.

hate george & izzy's storyline.
i miss dr. burke.
hah ha, you said 'seriously'!
I didn't mind the deer. I thought it was cute. Good for her for trying to save it and not letting the father cook it! Eesh.
I don't like Izzy at all though. She makes everything all about her and she goes on and on and on ... and she has the nerve to demand and wonder why George hasn't spoken to her? Hello! He has a WIFE.
I don't like George and Izzy together either. I can't see it.
I don't care about Burke one way or the other.
I also hate Mere and Der breaking up. Why? They know they're supposed to be together. I loved the way he defended her too.

I've been a big fan of this show for the first three seasons. I was willing to overlook some of the silliness that went on last season and give the writers the benefit of the doubt.
But last night's episode looked like the same old storylines in different packaging:
George, who is married, confesses his love for a co-worker. That sounds a lot like--oh, I don't know--Chief, Derrick, Addison...take your pick.
Izzy follows her heart and practices some stupid medicine. That sounds like the Denny situation or a handful of other scenarios I can think of.
Meredith's father's family is involved again. And they introduce Lexi to Derrick in a bar. How original.
Derrick and Meredith broke up, screwed, and began their cycle all over again. I knew when the first season was in-play that their relationship would never be solidified until the final season, but I thought it would be a little easier to stomach the twists and turns.
All in all, I think the episode was a 6 out of 10. I'll probably watch with a bit more skepticism this season before I decide to turn it off completely. I get the feeling, though, that the writers/producers now have a hit show, spin-off, a brand name, and a trouble-making cast member gone. They're set. But will the quality remain the same?
I'll reserve judgment for a few weeks.

However, I did think Callie's use of the term 'knocked-up' was a fun nod to Heigl's movie.

this is a pretty good assessment. i don't know, i lost faith in the show last year when meredith "died". i thought it was pretty silly after that. and now they are just creating stupid drama with meredith and mcdreamy. there really are no good reasons why they are breaking up.
meredith's sister was annoying.
i actually love izzy, though. i think just because she's so passionate about things and a little bit crazy...like me.
oh, and as much as burke is a jerk in real life...i think it's missing something without him and addison. we'll see, though...it's only been one episode and obviously i can't seem to stop watching, so i guess it's not ALL bad.
She doesn't want to get close to anyone, she has intimacy/attachment issues
and she apologized for the nasty comment
it's like she said, her father abandoned and rejected her
and he did not do that to Lexie
I wouldn't like her either, there's a ton of deep seeded animosity and resentment there.
What did Izzy say to Callie in the operating room right before she threw Izzy out?
Seems selfish to me...
She's taking out her anger on a sister who's got a million questions too. Yet another uncompelling storyline.
The Callie/Izzy thing...
Was this after Izzy felt obligated to tell Callie that she "was a good chief resident" after she was yelled at in front of everyone? If so, Izzy thought Callie was more embarassed to be yelled at in front of her, which (more than anything) confirmed that Izzy had something to atone for.

Meredith has a hard time connecting to people. You saw how her father was when his 2nd wife died, he berated Meredith and blamed her in front of the whole hospital.
It's her 1/2 sister.
LOL, I sound like meredith now
Yeah it was the scene in the operating room, do you know what she said to Callie right before she said "get out of my OR"?

Half or full, it doesn't matter. They both have unanswered questions that are sore spots for both of them. M's character doesn't seem to care about anything but her own dramas. She's too "poor me" to notice that her sister has questions or feelings, too.

I think it matters to her. and I think she has a hard time connecting to anyone b/c she's afraid she'll be abandoned. She wasn't warm to her stepmother either but then opened up, and then she died unexpectedly.
This is an absolute stranger to her, I don't think she's going to just open up and talk to her like they are long lost friends or what have you. And I think what Meredith feels is valid. She has a great deal of anger and resentment about her father loving this girl unconditionally while completely rejecting her.

I agree. I don't think it's far fetched for her to not want to get to know her. I like the show still but the Callie\George\Izzy story is boring as hell.

i TOTALLY hate the George and Izzy thing, and I feel sorry for both Bailey and Callie. Bailey for not having control of her former interns, and Callie for having a lot of shit pile up on her.

just sayin'
Maybe you have to be a bitch to get that person to just leave you alone. Being polite doesn't always work. Doesn't meant she's a bitch for the actual lack of feeling towards her.
