The beginning of this story is really boring. Same old shit from the old ones. Drive someone to a place, chase this car, beat up people and collect money. Please tell me it gets more exciting than this.

It has those kind of generic missions interspersed with some totally different jobs. It's worth sticking with for sure. Okay, some of it is more of the same, but using taxis really speeds up the process so its less tedious. The characters are always a lot more well developed than previous games. All the guys who give you jobs refer to each other and it feels much more of a network than before.

I'm assuming GTA4 is bigger (more expansive in area) than San Andreas?
Is anybody almost done with the game?
Pick up my debut novel here on amazon: Jonny Bails Floatin (in paperback) (also available on Kindle for $2.99)

No, it's smaller, about the same size of Vice City. They've avoided having big spaces of nothingness. It doesn't need to be a bigger area, and it never really feels very small unless you're flying around (personally I HATE the helicopters so never fly).

Lots of people have completed it. It's a lot easier than the past 3 GTAs. partly because the gameplay works a lot better (especially the cover and aiming systems) so there are less mistakes due to bugs. The use of taxis cuts down the travelling time within missions, and it's nice to travel around town without having to jack a car. Plus it's less fun to be chased by the cops for various reasons, so there's less time wasting between missions. I haven't completed any of the previous GTAs even though Ive played each of them for 20-30 hours. This one I'm about 3 quarters of the way through in 2 weeks of gameplay, between revision.

I'd say it's bigger than any of the previous citys personally, obviously not as big as SA as a whole, but easily the size of Los Santos and San Fiero combined.

Yeah, I'd agree. It's much bigger than Vice City, but nowhere near the size of San Andreas.
That said, there is much more packed into GTA4 than the others.

I cannot imagine this game without taxis! That is one nice feature!!

Last night I switched my phone to silent and just wandered around the city doing random things in single player.

    Really?!?!

Going from one side of the city to the other in 3 seconds directly to your destination is quite nice.

If I have a nice car I'll drive, but if I don't I'll be hailing a cab. Soooo much faster.

cool, yea them pop-ups can get annoying. i'll be in the middle of game in FIFA 08 on a scoring opportunity...then it starts saying, you have a message, this guys is now online. Now that u bring that up, how do you turn that shit off? :)

Last night I got Romans driver to pick me up and drive me from one side of the city to the other and I watched the whole journey in the cinematic camera angle.:)

It's in the settings somewhere, it was during playing Uncharted it started really annoying me, in the middle of big firefights and all these notifications kept coming up, ugghh annoying.
But yeah just have look in the settings menu it's there somewhere.:)

Yep. I'm all about reckless driving no matter what I'm doing. It's also a rarity to actually HAVE to go to the other side of the map.
Besides, you've seen my parking space. It's more fun than a taxi!

I'll jack the best car immediately available, and if I see a fast one along the way, I stop take it, and continue on down the yellow line.
Typically the muscle cars are all over the place (usually the best immediately available).

It does aggravate me when there's nothing but station wagons around....
