As shitty as you think it was, it is and will be light years better than any National Treasure or Mummy movie that came or will come out..

Ummm... what I think you meant to say was that it was a ripoff of those two movies.. with the scarab beetle ants, and the room full of treasure near the end... definitely did not feel like an Indiana Jones movie.

Pretty weak... should have stayed a trilogy:rolleyes:

Um, the beetles and ants were a rip off of the snakes from Raiders, fucking BEETLES and bugs from Temple of Doom and the Rats from Crusade.. Who's ripping off who???

I'd pay to see a hundred more movies in the same caliber as Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.. definitely worth it. Spielberg did it justice.

Yep - two words to describe this film would be disappointing and mediocre

Watched this on the opening night and was so so so disappointed. Far to much CGI and that Jungle chase was an absolute joke.

Of course the first 3 Indy movies are legendary and always had bugs and snakes... but they were always real, and not CGI.
Then the Mummy came out with it's CGI'd scarab beetles.. which while I'm not saying they are the first to put beetles in their movie.. they were unique in the way they came out of the ground and swarmed up on the people running from them.
Then comes Indy 4 with the same fucking CGI'd swarm.. except this time it is ants instead of beetles.. thus Indy 4 ripping off the Mummy.
Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.

Without a trace of hyperbole - one of the worst movies I have ever seen. About as good as Phantom Menace. Pure crap.

Well, you couldn't pay me to watch either film ever again. On the plus side, thanks to Crystal Skull, Temple of Doom seems far less crappy by comparison.

Haha. Short Round seems almost Oscar worthy with his performance.

No kidding. Hell, the dead, fake monkeys whose brains they were eating in Temple of Doom did a better acting job than anyone in Crystal.

"not space... the spaces between space"

that blew my mind! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA :p

that movie was really horrible... I was watching Raiders with my friends last night and we invented a game where youd say "Lucas" everytime a piece of dialogue was clearly his gag-worthy contribution... lets just say all of Crystal Skull struck me as that bad...

the atomic bomb scene was completely useless to the plot... other than infecting Indy with radiation poisoning to prevent any further sequels *fingers crossed*

the Shia swordfight scene was too much... anyone thats not Indy should play a minimal heroic role like Short Round did in Temple... and then if that wasnt enough he starts swinging with monkeys?!? itd be one thing if he had seen a monkey do it and then tried himself... but those fuckin monkeys followed him the entire way and even attacked the Russians

speaking of Russians... that might work for James Bond, but for Indy I just wasnt feeling it... Cate Blanchett is a very talented actress but she reminded me more of Natasha from Rocky and Bullwinkle... waaaay too cartoony

the whole archeological portion of the film wasnt as interesting as in Raiders or Last Crusade... there was less of a realistic basis for it IMO...

by adding aliens to this film they basically shrouded the last 3 films in doubt... if aliens make El Dorado what else did they make? the arc?... archeology is the study of human remains and object... I was watching something on history channel where so many current archeologist were saying they went into the field because of Indy... if todays kids see this new one it wont inspire them at ALL in the same way

(you can see the rest of my opinion on the other Crystal Skull thread... i keep feeling the need to vent about it :D)

    exactly.

i have grown tired of Spielbergs fascination with aliens and the like...i really didn't think he would fit it into an Indy film.

melting nazis? hell yea! and that was 1981! still kind of creepy when i watch it.

it's more than just the aliens BTW, like i mentioned...it's the cgi also. i agree with many about the action scenes, they were good at times. but whatever, i'm off to watch the original 3.

Uh it was actually a script that Lucas loved and Speilberg was iffy on.

everything i had read and heard leading up to the movie was that both Spielberg and Lucas were 'happy' with the script and that it met with positive reaction from both...not surprising to me given Spielbergs track record.

anyway, whatever...doesn't matter much...and that line was funny.

The consensus so far from peoples opinions is.. people who aren't anal about movies really enjoyed this film..

I've talked to a lot of people who really liked the film.. the only negative opinions so far have been weirdos online..

I was laughing my ass off.. Unless there was something stuck in your ass, I'm sure most would agree it was funny..

SOME people are taking the movie WAAAY too seriously.. loosin' up!

I'm not seeing what the deal is with this movie. Temple and Crusade both got mixed reviews. They were far from perfect.. People are expecting this movie to be the second coming of Christ.. It's about a guy swinging from a whip.. there's bad guys, a secret artifact, and chase scenes.. Spielberg did it justice. It was fun.. Even under a microscope it is still better than 99% of the crap out there...

Yo dipshit... did you read my post above? I love the first 3 Indy movies.. they're fucking awesome! but by your logic, since they are great movies, this movie is automatically good:confused: To be honest it's kind of weird that you're getting so defensive over a movie that you have nothing to do with
Whoa, chill bro... you know you can't raise your voice like that when the lion's here.

It was on par with Temple of Doom and Crusade.. I'm not seeing how this movie was any less.. Nothing will ever touch Raiders.

I dont think it has anything to do with "weirdos"... when you grow up and idolize a character and then a movie like this tarnishes their reputation and everything that character formerly stood for (which I believe this film did by effectively bastardizing archeology and the ingenuity of ancient man down to sci-fi bullshit) I think people have every right to bitch and question why a sequal was made at all... especially when it costs $10 to see it

I havent heard anything good from fellow Indy fans (on the internet or otherwise)... and I've only heard mediocre reviews from non Indy fans... things like "It was fun to watch... but really weird"

Much of the backlash regarding this movie probably has alot to do with leftover bad feelings about the horrible star wars prequals... these projects are like really bad reunion tours by washed up bands... if someones gonna go looking to squeeze more money out of a franchise they should do so with the hardcore fans in mind before casual fans IMO... I dont feel that they did with this film

but maybe Im just one of those internet weirdos :D:p

I hear Lucas loved it and Speilberg was just ok with it but yeah youre right , its irrelevant.
