Any other O's fans looking forward to the upcoming season?

    Me neither.

What I am looking forward to this season: Spending the summer overseas instead of having to endure another long season of Orioles baseball.

Anyone else going to opening day today? Weather sucks, but it looks like the Cubs-Brewers game isn't going to happen so I may as well catch opening day at Camden.

The O's are going to have a long year.
I do think George Sherrill will be a good closer.

w00t! If MLB had 16-game seasons like the NFL, imagine how many pennants we'd have won by now!

I don't get this franchise. the owner says he wants to win, we know he loves money...but yet he cannot pull it together.

Don't get me started on Peter Angelos. I have been in a bad enough mood as it is. :)

I didn't think they would win three straight all season. Bullpen has been stellar, they're getting timely hits, and have been fun to watch. Sherrill and Jones have been fantastic while Bedard got scratched already for today with one of his bullshit injuries. Early evaluation is the O's were the ones doing the raping of the Mariners in that deal.

We definitely made out better imo. There was no way Bedard would have resigned with us and so far this year Bedard has performed below what you would expect from him.

They have been pretty fun to watch so far.

    Go O's!

The Mariners should have sent Felix back for the ninth if they had to hold his arm together with glue and rubber bands. He had them completely shutdown. The O's hung in there with a quality start from Guthrie, more unhittable bullpen work, and clutch hitting. Big suprise so far in Baltimore.

The bullpen has been awesome but I hope we don't wear them out too early. The starters need to work a little deeper, so far they are only averaging 5 1/3 innings per start.

Anyway, I'll take sole possession of 1st after one week :D

    Go O's!!!!

4 game sweep completed...Watch out Texas. Don't be standing on track when the train comes through.

How about Sherrill. 4 saves and a 0.00 ERA. Sarfate gets the win again. That bullpen is tough. Need the starters to go deeper though.

    Just wow! Go O's!

Yes, Sherrill has ben lights out and I absolutely agree with you about the bullpen.

As of right now (8:13 PM EDT) the O's are tied for the best record in MLB

edit... I never noticed that the pit servers are 10 minutes off local time?

I was an infant when the Orioles won their last World Series. My all-time favourite O's memory has to be when Cal Ripken broke the record. The city was in a frenzy!

And fuck Jeffrey Maier to this very day!

Indeed good times. I was just six in '83 but still remember watching the World Series while on vacation in Florida.

Pic #3, Cal has acne  that was a long time ago.

I know it's early but it never hurts to get out of the gate like this.

    Go O's!

I agree, FUCK YOU Jeffrey Maier, you douche!

Ick, the bullpen looked like poopoo last night. Despite dropping 3 in a row we're still in first. Hopefully they get off the schnide tonight.

if they continue to play this way, which i can't really say because in 2005 they were in first place for a lot of the first half, but if they do, it's almost similar to the 1989 Orioles who had a lot of young guys and took the jays to the final week.

I'm going to see the O's July 19th against the Detroit Tigers. I'm going with my twin and our best friend. I'm really excited about it.

If all goes well maybe I'll be able to take my nieces to some of the cheaper Tuesday night games during the summer.
