Hope everyone is safe. :) I grew up in San Diego and yes, there were always fires, but nothing like in the last 5 years! It's just been crazy the last few years. I can't believe there is much more to burn. :(

And ever since the housing market went bust, there has been the possibility that someone with a box of matches is trying to get out of an upside down home loan.
  • my sister flew down this weekend to attend a wedding. she called last night and said she could see the flames from her hotel! apparently the smoke is pretty bad, she sounded soo raspy on the phone. stay safe sis, and all you other jammers!!

The air is gross, it's like living in a giant ashtray. I feel so badly for everyone who lost their home - those poor people in the mobile home park in Sylmar, it's like almost all the homes there are gone.

these fires are in random places. like hillsides off the freeways and residential areas. alot of them are just THERE and it appears nobody pays attention to them. They are just like hillsides u pass on the way somewhere and dont give a second thought to unless ure thinking hey isnt that where the fire was LAST YEAR??!! its as if its always the same areas.

Exactly!! 3 miles from my house. The FWY onramp I use EVERY SINGLE DAY is closed down, the hillside there is where this particular fire (the TRIANGLE FIRES) started :( it's awful. We're safe tho, thank GOD!

(btw, Grady got evacutated.....the fire was about 50 yards from his house. He's safe tho, well he was the last I heard on Saturday.......)

I feel so bad for the people in these areas. It is definitely a growing concern that these fires are happening so frequently. California is a beautiful place, but I am not sure I would want to deal with the possibility of having to evacuate my home due to fire.

    update:
I had so much fun in Disneyland! There were NO LINES! And we were able to ride Big Thunder Mountain repeatedly without getting off the ride! Dumbo was flying with empty elephants.
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.

Good to hear! I can hear the nightly fireworks from Disneyland from my house. Every night at 9:30. That's how close I live to that place.
