tough situation out in the valleys and mountains of california
meanwhile here on the right coast we are in a wet sponge of a grey and nasty day,...

roads closed and zero visability!

    this fire is about 30 miles northwest of me....it's so sad....:(

    however, the montecito fire on thursday didn't get to my sisters house although it did come within about a mile or so :o

    this entire housing track minus 60 or so homes have been burned to the ground.....almost 600 homes :(

    I didn't know about any fires until I just now saw this thread. Where are they? I'm driving to Orange County tomorrow on the 5, will I be able to make it without much traffic?

    right now the 5 is closed at the 14....don't know if it will be open by tomorrow....fires are now raging in north orange county in corona and Anaheim hills along the 91 freeway....the winds are supposed to die down tomorrow but who knows

    i live about 1.5 hrs south of Montecito...this morning, the air quality was perfect--crystal clear. Now, 6 hours later, there is a thick haze over everything, the air has a yellow-ish hue, and I can see ash on my car...it's crazy. And scary for those who are in it...good luck up there and stay safe.

    that was probably smoke and ash from the fire in palos verdes although it could also be from the yorba linda fire

    Yeah my sinuses are out of control with all the smoke in the air and what not. Last year I had to walk around with a respirator. At least I did not lose my home. I had friends here who came very close to that.
