NBC would like that matchup too. Here's the seeding scenarios:

The Rangers will play Montreal if the Canadiens win. If the Bruins win they will play the Penguins and the Rangers get the winner of Washington-Philadelphia. If that Bruins play the Penguins and the Flyers advance, the Rangers get home ice advantage.

    ahhhh.... sweet sweet justice.

just got home from the rock. i was in sect 121 and it was rocking with ranger fans.

seeing a penalty shot live in the playoffs is a great experience, glad i was able to witness that one.

pens/habs next round? who gives a shit? we are beating either.

i am impressed with pretty much the entire team. they are all stepping up and filling their role nicely.

their rookies are playing with so much confidence. love seeing dubinsky on the ice when it matters the most.

No doubt... I love this team.

Callahan stuffing the puck on the boards at the end was magnificant. Dubinsky, Gomez, Straka, Avery, Henrik, Jagr, shit, the whole team is playing great.

More credit to Avery as well....The Devils were really laying into him the whole game and even horse-collar tackled him like Roy Williams after that goal and he still stayed focused on the game.
I laughed at his post game interview when he said Clarkson isn't that great of a player anyway, etc.....and I guess Fatso forgot to shake my hand....ha

please like the players and coaches say, one shift, one period and one game at a time. not that i don't have confidence in them, just don't want to jump that far ahead.

    Sorry, Game Off Tonight
For those of you just joining us, we present the following public service announcement -- Game 6 today between the Rangers and Devils has been canceled due to the series being won in five games by the Rangers. While we're waiting for the Rangers' second round opponent to be determined, with the Habs and Bruins going to Game 7 and the Flyers and Caps to Game 6, here is your assignment: read this article in the Record on the handshake fiasco and discuss. Extra credit: discuss this one on goalie abuse.

I thought Brodeur was kind of bush. The elegence of the post playoff series handshake is a display of sportsmanship. Hockey in general and the NHL in particular, prides itself on this tradition.

i am all about protecting the goalies for various reasons, but when they are out of the crease or behind the net, bumps and taps should not be considered interference of any kind.

but it's tough, where do you draw the line? i am not for a goalie getting leveled outside of his crease only to leave an open net to shoot on. that's not right and really not that fair. you are constantly going to have guys take intentional runs at goalies just to get them out of the net, on their ass and in a position in which it is impossible to play the puck.

how about if the goalie isd playing the puck in the parrallelogram ( rear net area ) then he is fair game to get hit.
otherwise respect the crease of course.

    hahaha

so whos our next opponent going to be ?

eh, you can make the arguement that he is fair game back there. but i just think they are too vulnerable to injury when you have someone taking a full run at them.

one thing i would like to change... when goalies get into fights, they both get game misconducts for leaving the crease. do away with that, sit them in the box for five and let the back up play. then coaches' decision to put him back after he serves his 5 minutes.

next opponent? bruins are hot, but i can't see them taking a 7th game in montreal. so i pick nyr vs mon & pitt vs philly.
