Babies are ugly.

  • NEWBORNS are pretty gnarly...but once they can hold up their own head, and a personality form - they are cute.

but the initial month or two? oh, goddammit that is pretty bad.

I have pictures of myself as a baby - and I am covered in what looks like a soft brown pelt. also I had some kind of red "bloom" on my face at birth. (it disappeared by the 5th month) and my lips look like someone caught them in a vacuum hose.

it is quite possibly the ugliest baby picture I have ever seen. I would post it here -but it is to early.

my baby was c-sectioned out and was 9+ pounds, so he looked like a 3 month old...no wrinkles, none of that "ugly" stuff. i guess that is 1 perk of the c-section. he was beautiful!! and still is....

Lazy babies barely able to push a cart around in my acid mine! Grrrr. Weak little babies don't even respond to a good whipping from my cat o' nine tails.

is this coming from the poster who got all pissed off during a discussion about teeth that we are all so shallow and about superficial looks? :p

newborn babies are indeed scary-looking. i also find most babies look more like other babies than grown adults or older siblings. however, there are some truly beautiful babies, and some not so much....just like older children and adults. lucky babies though, b/c even if a butt-ugly baby, have the possibility of growing up into a gorgeous adult whereas there are some damn ugly adults walking around this earth and overall, fuck-all they can do about it. :D

beauty is also in the eye of the assholer ... the assholer being someone who questions the physical attributes of infants (me).

staying on topic......i find some babies to be hideous a rare few gorgeous, and most somewhere inbetween....just like grown adults. i was never one to be ga-ga over babies or children, altho i do enjoy/appreciate them. however, a few years out of teaching, no children of my own...all by choice at this point, i find i have a far lower tolerance for babies/children in general. sure, i can still enjoy them, kids love me!...why i don't know :p......but i guess i am so accustomed to my very 'adult' life, and i prefer it that way. to each their own, eh?

sgossard...have you not ever witnessed the ugly parent/beautiful child syndrome? gentics are a funny thing. even some 'beautiful people' can produce some not too beautiful offspring. it's a genetic crapshoot. :D

i like seeing babies, and children, in passing. commenting on how cute or not so cute they are...and then being on my way! :p nothing makes me ask for a different table in a restaurant, or change locations on a train, in a theatre, etc.....than seeing a baby/young child nearby. hahaha.

My wife and I walked into a restaurant the other day and saw a crying baby at the same time the host was walking towards us and we just looked at each other and turned and left. I'm a horrible, horrible person.

it amazes me that parents think they can continue to live the same lives they had before having children... i work at a pretty nice italian restaurant and these parents come in and let there kids run wild while they drink wine by the bottle... its fuckin annoying... they have to know its not an environment for kids... theyre just blissfully ignorant... ya gotta make sacrifices if you have kids... not saying it should end your romantic life, but find a fuckin sitter if you wanna go out somewhere not kid friendly

not at ALL. in a restaurant we frequent often, and thus are pretty well known, the host KNOWS not to seat us near children. :) there is nothing wrong with it. hell, i think even parents who decide to hire a babysitter, have an evening to themselves, prefer not sitting near other people's babies/children. it is not an anti-child stance, it is simply wanting peace and quiet and enjoyment. and yes, i realize some adults can be far owrse than oyung children, but something cn be done about them. you can't exactly ask someone to stop their child from crying, or sometimes kids are whiny, running around, whatever. i prefer taking my chances with fellow adults around me is all. and sure, i avoid ever seeing G rated movies or going to 'family-themed' places...so i do my part. :p

still talking babies long red.....the cute and the ugly! :)

i'll tell ya the one truly gorgeous baby i have ever seen in real life was the baby of a good friend of my husband...his oldest daughter. seriously, THE most beautiful baby i've seen in life, not celeb pics, etc. she is now a cute girl, but no where near the beauty she was a baby. funny how much we can change...for the better and the worse.
