    hearing it all morning - they were practicing on my street. grates on my nerves something awful....


    i had to lower the tv after 2 hours of this parade ,, very annoying

    being on 46th and 5th - has not stopped all day. my itunes doesn't blur it out either...my boss even said he's embarassed to answer the phone b/c people will think he is in a bar!!! lol....it is right outside his window.

    i don't think they are annoying at all.

    but i do think bagpipes are one of the most melancholy sounds on earth.
    they are, it's moving to hear them actually, at least for me. my dad loves them so we always hit up the highlander festivals in town during the summer. the main one has 800 bagpipers play at the closing ceremony....hearing them all play 'amazing grace' can bring you to tears.

    i love experiencing and learning about different cultures, variety is what this country is made of anyway :)

    being scottish, and musically aware, I fucking love the sound of bagpipes and feel sorry for all those who don't.

    it takes real skill to get such lovely sounds out of that contraption.

    my dad was a big fan of the bagpipe as well :)

    it's overwhelming for sure, especially if you're standing in the front :eek: it's like getting bitchslapped by bagpipes lol it is intense though and cool :)

    they have bagpipe group competitions all day, it definitely takes some talent!

    Im Scottish and not the biggest fan of bagpipes at all, although hearing amazing grace on them is pretty good.
    People say im paranoid. Well, they dont say it, but i know that's what they are thinking.
