best of luck to you. I have a very good friend that went to jail for two years for drugs and and illegal weapon.

He has been out for 5 years now and is doing remarkably well.

that's good news. In no way should someone be judged by what they do on their own time. If you can do your job as well as anyone else, that's all that should matter.

Hell lets take it one step further. If someone can do their job baked as well or better than someone else who is sober, should they be fired?
Hello, I love you. Won't you tell me your name?

I wouldn't want to work with someone who used drugs. Not only is he a danger to me but also himself.

Now in this case if you lied I would fire you too. If you were honest I wouldn't have a problem as long as the use had stopped.

If you worked at a major sporting good chain,
you would be worried about a pothead being a danger to himself, AND to YOU?

What do you think he would do,
come in high, mistake you for a bear, and try to shoot you?
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

Cool, would it be inappropriate to come back wearing a t-shirt with a gigantic marijuana leaf on the front?

All the good jobs I've had I could hit one with the boss after work, but alas I live in Canada...land of the reefer :D
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

Anything could happen. That is why they are called accidents, and I'd rather work alongside a sober person.

There comes a time in one's life where you figure it may be that time to grow up and stop using drugs. We all can't be rock stars.

why does it matter what someone does in their own home (in regards to drugs)??? as long as they don't show up high or neglect kids or whatever what's it matter?

I.m sure you work alongside people that drink and smoke cigarettes which both contain drugs
