I think that legalizing and applying similar (if not, the same) laws to alcohol is more than reasonable.

But how do you measure ones, "highness"...A breathalizer wouldnt work. How would you be able to do this?

Obviously, there would have to be some differences between marijuana laws and alcohol laws. For starters, no smoking while driving---that one is easy. I agree that measuring ones "highness" would be difficult, but it may not be out of the realm of possibility. I dunno...

Driving high is certainly not as bad as driving drunk. Ive driven home blasted plenty of times, its a little nerve wrecking but its nothing challenging. I drove home pretty high from the PNC bank arts center all the way to exit 160 on the NJ parkway. It was not hard at all. It was actually relaxing and very enjoyable...and I was driving nearly all day.

Still as dumb as driving drunk. Not saying I've never done it but that doesn't make it right. Just the parent coming out in me. Guess I've grown up in the last 10 years because I would have never said that when I was younger. I did a lot of stupid shit...so much I probably shouldn;t be here and I am one lucky MFer that I never hurt anyone else...let alone myself.

Driving drunk and driving stoned is the same thing.

You sit suspects down in a room and play them a movie like Super Troopers, and then you use a sound pressure meter to register the level of their laughter...

I disagree. Driving drunk is an absolute no no. Driving high, while stupid, is no where near as bad. Plus the average person that smokes pot usually sits around at the peek of their high and then drives. I have freinds that drive and smoke like its nothing and they are perfectly fine. I however wait until my high dies out a little before I drive, and at that point its very easy.

So your telling me you honestly believe your reaction time, while stoned, is not totally fucked up? You're high! :)

By saying they smoke and drive and they are perfectly fine clearly tells me your perception of the whole situation is fucked. What you're saying is that it is exactly the same driving stoned or sober.

This is a blanket response to a drug period. Coffee, medication, one drink, a late night, getting up tired, daydreaming and marijane effect ones sensory perception. Sharp responsible driving is possible in all these circumstances but of course each person is different, a responsible person effected badly by one drink doesn't drive after having one etc.

They are NOT perfectly fine no matter what you might think. I am of the opinion, that driving while impared BY ANYTHING is just plain wrong. There are just too many things at risk. I dont care if it is pills, booze, a joint, cocaine, whatever. You are still at risk of killing someone at anytime regardless of you choice of fuckedupness...:). Sorry, I am just dead set against it... just my opinion.

I expect that response from a 19 year old....but I've meet you and I know you're not that young (even though you may look it :)).

Not judging anyone....I've done it all. I just know it's not right when everyone you pass is at risk because someone chose to drive fucked up.

    My opinions only.

I understand the whole debate on this issue. But its something you have to experience I guess. And yes, every person is different. Like I said before, I dont drive when at the peak of my high, I drive when it starts dying down. I also find myself obeying the speed limit alot better, and using turn signals. To me, Its just a plant that comes from the ground, no harm.

Just so we are clear, this was NOT a personal attack on you. This is just MY opinion. At the end of the day, it means nothing. As for experience, I used to smoke alot back in the day, and I am VERY greatful that I didnt hurt anyone. I guess it is a personal choice not too now that I am older and there seems to be so much at stake, and the timesa have changed so much as well.. I dont condone it by any means, but I dont condemn those who smoke either. just like alcohol, if people are responsible, it is all good. there are just too too many people that arent is the prob.

Oh I know it wasn't an attack. I can tell when someone is attacking another person on a forum. It is just a phase. I'm sure Ill grow out of it. but right now (me being 19) smoking, drinking, you know its all the rage so to speak.
