actually, I think those were people dancing during a gay pride parade."You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91

My point is... WHO gets to decide who is a Real American... and who isn't? I know it's not me. I believe we're all Americans... big cities and small towns. Why must there always be these fabricated, artificial divides in our nation?
I totally agree. I think the main reason for the artificial divides is its a way to win (or in the Bachmnann case hopefully not win) elections, because of setting up an 'us vs. them' mentality with 'them' being 'other' and 'not like 'us' '. We all have differences, but continuing with my comments from page 1, it is American to be able to disagree and live together peacefully. (Loved your satirical post btw).R.i.p. Rigoberto Alpizar.

Rep. Michele Bachmann from the great state of Minnesota truly is somethin'.. yet another example of the McCain camp trying to divide this country further than it already is.10-18-2000 Houston, 04-06-2003 Houston, 6-25-2003 Toronto, 10-8-2004 Kissimmee, 9-4-2005 Calgary, 12-3-05 Sao Paulo, 7-2-2006 Denver, 7-22-06 Gorge, 7-23-2006 Gorge, 9-13-2006 Bern, 6-22-2008 DC, 6-24-2008 MSG, 6-25-2008 MSG0 -
I guess by Palin's logic I'm not a real American either. It amazes me how divisive some of these people are. During a period of crisis where our government needs to work together and the people need to but aside our difference and focus on making sure that our government is doing what needs to be done for US, these politicians decide to further divide the nation. They are a fucking disgrace and have no place being in our government."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0

I love how all of New York is anti-American, except when Palin and company come to Ground Zero. I guess it's the little pro-America pocket of New York City, surrouded by enemies on all sides.0

Well, I wonder. Is all of New York City not the real America? Is New York State the real America? Does our fake Americanness infect places near us? Surely, Philadelphia's fake America, but what about further west? Is there a border line for fake America and real America, or do they gradually bleed into each other? If I move to Kansas, will I be real American then or does my fake Americanness just follow me around? And also, in New York City, do the firefighters of 9/11 have an America-clause, or do they get wrapped up in fake America, too?
So confusing, ugh. This was just so much easier when I thought I was actually American.0 -

I like on The Daily Show last night when they asked a guy in a bar in Wasilla and he said that Wasilla was affected more than NYC after 9/11."When one gets in bed with government, one must expect the diseases it spreads." - Ron Paul0 -

Speaking of that segment, and speaking as a community organizer, it sure was nice to hear about all the "responsibilities" the mayor of Wasilla had. I wonder why the mayor even agreed to do that, considering how badly it went.0 -
The self-delusion the Palins of the world must have to commit to, when they talk about the "anti-American" parts of the country like New York City, and then in the next sentence talk about the "heroes of 9/11", it must cause severe mental problems to be able to really be capable of holding both those pieces of information in your head without a breakdown.0
