Rep. Michele Bachmann from the great state of Minnesota truly is somethin'.. yet another example of the McCain camp trying to divide this country further than it already is.

Did you watch the clip? Very scary. Last I heard her opponent had raised over $500,000 since Hardball aired.

I saw this happen live and I was stunned ...

  • She is seriously nuts.

Last I heard, El Tinklenberg has raised around $650,000 since that appearance...lol! :D

If I had the money to spare right now, I'd send him some money from Jersey! Bachmann needs to go.

I hope the republican orthodoxy implodes, explodes, and they are all cast out of the party. These zealots are idiots, and very anti american by being so narrow minded. Their way or you are a traitor.

So far it's great to see the middle of the road voters are so far not fooled by their ignorance yet again. We're in trouble if McCain wins....and anyone that says that both sides are the same aren't too smart in their assessment. This isn't republican vs democrat, this is a very narrow minority view being forced upon through manipulation, the majority. That's Rove's strategy, trick the rabbits into providing you victory.

our political system sucks because of all the marketing of nothing, it's like a Seinfeld episode, politics about nothing, but the right orthodoxy is far more dangerous than what Obama will bring.

Palin can't even answer the questions on the citizenship test, is married to a member/ex member, and supports, as of 2006, a right wing Alaskan sessionist group, but she is Pro-American? I'm confused...

Maybe you could wear tie that looks like a flag, and a flag pin as big as palin's?!

Seriously I don't know. Probably each one of us has some different opinions on what is pro-America. To me - caring for the environment, caring for those who are less fortunate, making sure everyone has a fair shake, those are American values to me.

From the Daily Show, how to tell if you are a real American or a fake American...

    answer these quetions

    1. Your favorite amendment is a) the First, b) the second

    2. Is Broccoli Rabe the name of a) a vegetable, b) the name of a guy that works in the produce department at Food Lion (you know the kind of guy joe the plumber would be his vegetables from if he ever ate vegetables)

    3. audio question - complete the phrase "and I'm proud to be an a...."
    a) american, b) abortionist

    4. visual question - plays video clip of sexy people on the beach dancing...stops clip, are you still watching if yes, you are a fake american, if you are still watching but very afraid that your wife is going to walk in and catch you watching, you are a real american

    5. are you voting for a) John McCain, b) the terrorist

if you answered any of these questions that means you are watching the Daily show, and you are clearly not a real american

ok, live is better, but it was hilarious

And what's all this stuff about 'Small Town America' being the place to find 'Real Americans'? There are no 'Real Americans' in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Atlanta or Dallas? Okay... I'll give you Atlanta... but, aren't the Dallas Cowboys, 'America's Team'? Shouldn't the Lone Pine Pine Cones be America's Team if the real America only exists in small towns?
Yeah... Small towns have their advantages... easy to find Meth and easy to bang teenagers. Is that what real America is about... banging ugly teenagers on Meth? If you don't believe me... go to Barstow, California and see for yourself.
    ...
And I guess since no 'Real Americans' come from places such as the Great Sodom of the NorthEast (a.k.a. New York City, N.Y.)... then, I guess all those Fire Fighters and Police Officers on September 11, 2001 were just a bunch of fake, anti-American big city Liberal terrorist enablers... huh?
    ...
My point is... WHO gets to decide who is a Real American... and who isn't? I know it's not me. I believe we're all Americans... big cities and small towns. Why must there always be these fabricated, artificial divides in our nation?

I totally agree. I think the main reason for the artificial divides is its a way to win (or in the Bachmnann case hopefully not win) elections, because of setting up an 'us vs. them' mentality with 'them' being 'other' and 'not like 'us' '. We all have differences, but continuing with my comments from page 1, it is American to be able to disagree and live together peacefully. (Loved your satirical post btw).

I guess by Palin's logic I'm not a real American either. It amazes me how divisive some of these people are. During a period of crisis where our government needs to work together and the people need to but aside our difference and focus on making sure that our government is doing what needs to be done for US, these politicians decide to further divide the nation. They are a fucking disgrace and have no place being in our government.

I love how all of New York is anti-American, except when Palin and company come to Ground Zero. I guess it's the little pro-America pocket of New York City, surrouded by enemies on all sides.

Well, I wonder. Is all of New York City not the real America? Is New York State the real America? Does our fake Americanness infect places near us? Surely, Philadelphia's fake America, but what about further west? Is there a border line for fake America and real America, or do they gradually bleed into each other? If I move to Kansas, will I be real American then or does my fake Americanness just follow me around? And also, in New York City, do the firefighters of 9/11 have an America-clause, or do they get wrapped up in fake America, too?

So confusing, ugh. This was just so much easier when I thought I was actually American.

I like on The Daily Show last night when they asked a guy in a bar in Wasilla and he said that Wasilla was affected more than NYC after 9/11.

Speaking of that segment, and speaking as a community organizer, it sure was nice to hear about all the "responsibilities" the mayor of Wasilla had. I wonder why the mayor even agreed to do that, considering how badly it went.

The self-delusion the Palins of the world must have to commit to, when they talk about the "anti-American" parts of the country like New York City, and then in the next sentence talk about the "heroes of 9/11", it must cause severe mental problems to be able to really be capable of holding both those pieces of information in your head without a breakdown.
