Isnt that because the gun ban?

Um... assuming I'm interpreting that sentence right... yes, it's because guns aren't a constitutional right.

Talking to an Irishman here, I'm afraid. And it's as easy for you to look it up as it is for me.:)

You do understand that the slippery slope you refer to is an argumentative fallacy... You've literally said "Here is my argument and why it is wrong."

    How is it a fallacy?

I'm saying that gun control is a slippery slope.

The fact that we already have massive gun control (which very arguably is not doing shit) ... and people are crying for more and more of it ... i think if anything that PROVES it is a slippery slope.

We have a lot already, people still want more ... and we have already been shown that it just strips us of rights while not making us safe ... yet we want to continue sliding down the rocks. Some leading too more ... that is the basic definition of slippery slope, right? And when that slope gets ridden down on the heels of emotional and reactionary "logic", it is all the worse.

    Some fallacy.

If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?
  • so you would rather be a victim than be able to defend yourself?

Don't know, Iv'e never been or even felt like a victim.

And I've certainly never EVER been in a situation where I thought I need a gun to resolve it.

Who says I even need one to defend myself?

what I am afraid of is being stuck down by "freindly fire" by some douche who is "defending himself" on the next block.

when the bullets go up, they gotta come down somewhere you know.

look, can we put this arguement to rest by saying that I think you might have a point that people carrying guns might actually make society safer...

but you are totally out of line saying I have to carry one, or that I am a coward for not carrying one?
