From some research I've done it really seems to me that CHANGE means more of the same to Mr. Obama.

Seems to me when it comes down to something that will equate CHANGE he chooses to not vote.

Is that what he will do when he is President?

Concerned Citizen, "Mr. President will you choose to sign it or to veto it?"

President Obama, "I will abstain from answering that on the grounds that I may piss off The Corporations that control me."

complete voting record: http://www.votesmart.org/voting_category.php?can_id=BS030017

I guess I could laugh at this, but honestly I find nothing funny about it.......

is anyone really expecting ANY 'change', regardless of who is elected? ask yourself, how will your daily life change? you will still get up every morning, go to work, pay taxes........

the only real 'change' i see is that bush is gone

that's exactly a part of the problems...that being that vast majority of Americans look at politics as to how it will effect THEMSELF. how is anything ever going to change if everyone's only concern is for themselves and not the rest of the people that they must share this country (and world) with? maybe it should be about trying to make changes to make improvements for the better for everyone (or as many as possible) instead of just the status quo of "What's in it for Me?"

Seems that we depend too much on other people to make change for us... if we want to make change we must take the responsibility!!!!!

    I agree.

And i like the poster who said " ask yourself, how will your daily life change? you will still get up every morning, go to work, pay taxes........"

totaly ignoring the fact that there was, and still IS, one person in the race for president who would dramaticaly reduce your personal tax burden ... like your income tax would become ZERO.

  • i don't like hearing people say things like, "things will never change..."
if that was true, would black people be slaves still? would separate but equal still be up held? would abortion be illegal? would women be prohibited from voting? would the american people still be groaning under british parliment?

of course things change...but only if citizens band together to fight for what they believe in

but, with fat-lazy-over stimulated citizens, yes positive change is far from a reality

but you refered to them as senseless people. so if the case is that you feel any death is senseless you should have refered to their deaths as senseless. you seem to imply that their deaths were meaningless...and that's far from the case as their cause was equality and justice.

I am more than willing to vote for Obama (at least it's a small step in the right direction) so that things will change so that other people will not have to continue to die in this senseless war, foremost amongst many reasons. not that those serving in Iraq are senseless or meaningless by any means. what are you willing to do to take steps to see that the war comes to an end?

hint.... bitching about how nothing will never, ever change on a message board isn't taking any kind of step towards the goal of getting the troops home

He has already stated that he is NOT bringin' the Troops home. His plan is for Redeployment, that doesn't sound like bringin' troops home to me.......

Bringing Troops home and Redeployment don't have the same meanings, do they?

where do you get this shit? show a reliable link that shows where he has stated that he plans to redeploy the troops.

Bring Our Troops Home: Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats.

George Bush also ran his campaign on a humble foreign policy. It seemed to work out.
