VP debate moderator Ifill releasing pro-Obama book
Focuses on blacks who are 'forging a bold new path to political power'
Is this fair that the moderator for the VP debate is releasing a book on Obama around the inaurguration next year??? Can she be even handed in her questioning?
Peace

Of course, blame the moderator when your candidate can't handle anything more than a softball question. I mean JESUS, she couldn't even handle Katie Couric. You're just whining because Palin's gonna get her ass handed to her tomorrow. And Joe Biden's going to wipe the floor with the remains

For the sake of comparison, was it fair to have someone from the former Clinton administration moderate a debate between Obama and Clinton during the primary? No. But Obama showed up and debated anyway. You might remember he took a lot of shit from Stephanopoluosusohkjha (or however it's spelled ).
I guess this will give the McCain campaign the excuse they've been wanting to get Palin out of the debate or claim "bias".
you're hurting America with this shit.

probably they wouldn't be in an uproar considering he's not a friggin journalist anyway and everyone knows it Dems would have just negotiated him out or not agreed to debate with him as the moderator.
I just picked the first name I could think of but you understand what I mean.

I hear ya. Sometimes I have to give myself a self-imposed media black out. And it's only going to get worse in the next few weeks. Seriously. From both sides its going to be all bs, all the time.
nobody is making excuses. other than your average "joe american" posting things online. mccain has said he thinks ifill was a fine choice as moderator and he thinks she'll conduct herself very professionally.
personally, i don't have a problem with it. think about it, no matter who moderates these debates, they're voting for someone and there exists a possibility to be bias against the person they're not voting for. but what you hope for is someone that can put that bias aside to complete a task.

McCain is fine with this. Non-issue.
Of course it's fair. Both candidates had to sign off on her moderating the debate so this should be no surprise to either side. She is a professional and I think she will handle the debate with even handedly.
Bring him on, it would be more fun actually having him as a moderator. The point with this post is that Miss Ifil needed to reveal this book beforehand, be more forthright and upfront rather than have this come out a day or two before the debate.
She could then point out she'll unbiased in her questioning and therefore more believable to me at that point. Now she comes across as totally unbelievable no matter what she says.

You must like to ASSume quite a bit. In what way did you surmise that this is my candidate with a simply question about whether this is fair or not for Ifill being the moderator.
I think Palin will do just fine actually, it all depends on which we'll are tending to vote for. Biden needs to play this debate like Mohammad Ali, he may win the debate but without beating her to a pulp. Let the media decide how bad or how well she does. As for me neither Presidential nor VP candidates are my choice as yet. At the moment Ralph Nader has a better chance of geting my than either candidates.

Raising a hue and cry against this moderator seems to me hedging your bets against a devastating loss for Palin. She has thus far not come across as the world's most astute debater. I think she will be good, and I think she will stick to her glittering generalities as much as possible. She already has the ADVANTAGE of having called what kind of debate it would be--a limited debate with reduced opportunities to make egregious errors against Biden. If she and Biden were to have the debate Obama and McCain had, she'd be laughed off the floor of the debates. Her repetoire of talking points is severely limited. In essence, Biden has been handicapped by her selection of debate type; if by some odd chance he should acquire something by virtue of having a Dem pose the questions, it would serve to actually balance a debate stacked in the favor of Palin's limitations.
But, Democrats aren't like that. They're...I don't want to say idiots...but they are too nice. They are too honest. They have too much honor. They say things like, "You're absolutely right, John," instead of going for the jugular that they would have every right to go after. Ever the gentlemen; ever the nice guys. And we all know where nice guys finish when they go after pit bulls wearing lipstick.
uhhh ... what about a republican approving a stupid looking ballot in florida 8 years ago? ... any conflict of interest there?
1. EVERYONE HAS A BIAS - the issue is whether they have shown and continue to do the job they are tasked with ... she's moderated debates before and no one has ever complained ...
2. while you decide to tune out the "media" for their "unfair" treatment of sarah palin - what you have missed is that you are actually supporting someone who doesn't have a clue ... she HAS NEVER shown that she possesses any knowledge for which she is supposed to know ... you're being sold a lemon by a charming used car saleswoman ...
Damn... you are delusional... A love novel??? Maybe if it really was an issues, the McCain camp would have objected to her being the moderator in the first place.
And besides some idiot bloggers, who is talking about Palin's kids? And is McCain's age supposed to be a secret? And since when is calling someone out of touch with technology (yes a stupid ad), "saying he as one foot in the grave?
I asked a few question knowing full well that you won't ever answer them like usual... You love the drive by talking points.

uhh - if anything that just encourages to opposition to come out and wasn't it fox that gave bush florida before the ballots were even counted?
so ... you are saying she will be an unfair moderator then? ... the fact that the GOP have approved her means nothing ... the fact she's been objective before matters not? ... you already know she's gonna be unfair?
dude ... this isn't tag team presidency ... she is EXPECTED to know her shit ... and she doesn't ... she doesn't know energy either ... frig - she doesn't even know the issues alaskans face! ... read up on her - she doesn't know anything ...
and the notion that she is outside washington is absurd ... do you think the architects of the GOP quit after each election?? ... the same people that brought you bush/cheney now give you mccain/palin ... mccain was a maverick but he's sided with bush the last 5 years for one reason and one reason only ... so, he could get this nomination from the people that matter ... sarah palin is a puppet ... you put in ignorant people because they need to be told what to do (see GWB) ...
it's kinda sad...
Wrong... in 10 seconds of searching yesterday, I found a press release from September 3rd that made mention about it (http://www.weta.org/about/press/releases/85243). And that is about some Washington Week live event, so I'm sure that that the publisher made some sort of announcement before that.

Your "source" is the National Review? Hilarious.
Here's what John McCain had to say about it.

Go away, troll.
Michelle Malkin?!?!? please... Maybe I can use a Cindy Sheehan blog for a source to back up my arguments.
And this whole "in the tank" talking point that the right wing pundits are using to describe every media outlet is a joke. Based on recent polls, the only people who appear to be "in the tank" for Obama are the voters.
edit: I actually just wasted a minute or two of my time actually reading the article, and the "proof" that she is giving that Ifill is "in the tank" is the title of her book and puff piece that she wrote on the Obama family? Really, that's it?

Olberman annoys me and is pretty much unwatchable.
So, I have no problem changing my post to:
