Troops Deployed Abroad Give 6:1 tO OBAMA and I gather that his troop withdrawal stance is resonating among the troops. They want to come home and appear to rather give to Obama than to a decorated POW veteran like McCain.

I'm not a Obama supporter so why is the happening to a military man like McCain?

The troops probably feel much like civilians in the U.S. do ... That's its "time for a change".

Ron Paul got more money from the troops than any other candidate. It didn't get him anywhere either.

Are you sure? I read the other day somewhere that Ron Paul received more money than any other Republican Candidate, but not more than Obama.

According to a study released by the Washington watchdog group Center for Responsive Politics, U.S. troops, and especially those deployed abroad, are talking with their wallets and saying they want Democrat Obama as the next president.

Obama has received nearly six times as much money from troops deployed overseas at the time of their contributions than McCain and the “fiercely anti-war Ron Paul,” another Republican presidential candidate, CRP said.

According to the group, Obama received $60,642 in contributions from 134 troops deployed abroad. McCain only got $10,665 from 26 soldiers, while Paul received $45,512 from 99 troops.

you answered your own question, more than likely. i do not think those in the miltary simply 'side with their own'...such as simply going with mccain since he is a decorated POW. in reality, what difference does that make? i would think, like many others, they are looking at the future president as to what he can do for them, the country, the world...right NOW....and not simply his military history. so perhaps obsama's message resonates more clearly and in sync with the bulk of troops abroad. to me personally, no surprise there. if i were abroad in service, i'd want to get the fuck home asap. obama seems the more likely candidate of the 2 to work towards that sooner. simple.

True, it is about what Obama can do for them now over McCain's being a military veteran disregarding the fact Obama never served a day in the military.

Possibly, maybe it was something that was a moment in time and not current.

Abudeski believes that Obama understands that people are basically good. That doesn't make me scared for my childrens future. If i had kids, then plenty of other things i worry about would make me scared, but not obama feeling like that.

There's also nothing wrong with thinking maybe people aren't basically good. Maybe we are born with tendencies toward both good and evil? Maybe your babies were born innocent but not good?

Ron Paul is second from troops deployed abroad, but he dropped out when, in May? Obama should have passed him by now. When Paul was still in it I am sure he had the lead.

this entire election is just annoying. can Obama be sworn in so that I can go back to not thinking about this anymore.

do you really think it's such a slamdunk, a foregone conclusion?
i am still unconvinced. obviously, i have my own personal hopes and desires....but if past elections have taught me nothing, i at least now remain cautious in my views of my fellow americans and what they want, collectively, b/c they have surprised me...negatively...too many times in the past. fool me once, shame on you. fool me twice, shame on me. :p so yes, i am not believing obama is the next president until it actually happens. i too would like to stop thinking about this, especially the uncertainty.
