  • I've never seen or felt anything like this in my lifetime. It makes me think of all of the hope and optimism that was present in the 60's with JFK, RFK and MLK. I just pray upon everything that is good in this universe that this doesn't get snuffed out either.

Yeah, that got to me ....

I saw that too. Just beautiful.

Anyone else see Jesse Jackson crying? Got me choked up, just thinking about all of the things that must have been racing through his mind, being with MLK through those marches, the moments before his assasination, Jackson running for president, etc etc. What a ride for him.

Me neither. We had some making up to do after screwing up the last two elections, and fucking up the primaries during this one.

As an American who is too young to vote.

    Thank you guys.

this is such an awesome statement. it made me realize that i voted for more than my own interests, but for those of the younger generations as well.

That's cool and thanks again for your help. :) The Washington Post here in DC will evaporate off the shelves tomorrow morning. Millions are out in the streets in Kenya.

  • Maybe this moment will show the world the United States that was prevalent after 9/11. We really do want peace and want to work together. Let's unite the country and put away the partisan politics and do what's best for the country and for the world.

I'm just happy VA finally turned Blue...Fuck George W. and the GOP. This election is nothing short of a rebuke of both him and his party...and I'm lovin' it.
  • When you see all of the people that are crying in the crowd and across America in celebration parties, and me here sitting on my couch when there are honest and truthful tears shed then you know that this election was just so very important for all of us who were waiting for change!!!

    Congrats Dems....

I didn't vote for him, but I've got my 9 year old here with me to watch Obama's speech. I'm proud for the country -- he didn't need my vote here in CA, he wouldn't have gotten it anyways, but I didn't vote for McCain either.

    We need viable 3rd Parties.

I'm not big on words, I judge more on people's actions. The action I see now is that as Obama has just said, "all things are possible." In that regard, I really do revel in the action our country has just taken.

I hope the best for our country, and sure, why not, the world....

damn ... can anyone really say they are not proud of their country tonight? Not motivated? Not looking forward to see what this man can really do?

Can anyone really be so cynical not to realize what we just witnessed? How enormous this is in our history?

Does anyone NOT want to give this a chance?
