You are probably too young to have seen this show -- this was Homey the Clown, a drunk clown on a show called "In Living Color".

...But seriously, we all have a difference of opinion-which is great...

When someone on this board says that OUR war on Iraq was justified, or that 9/11 was Bill Clinton's fault, or that Universal Health Care is a horrible idea, or that GLBT people should not have the same rights as heterosexuals...

    THAT IS NOT GREAT.

The rules on the board are pacifistic, which will only get you so far... and then it will get you to paralysis as far as being progressive goes... which is where i believe the moderators stand...

Sometimes it has to come to "may the best man win"... If one or both are skilled enough, they can come back from that and back into a decent conversation... where maybe they will learn from each other.

I just don't think it should be up to the moderators to decide what is best for all of us... Doesn't seem very "free"...

but then again... there are trolls...
Freedom is a state of mind...

That's the trouble with a nice clean lcd screen. You often end up looking at your own reflection. ;)

I'm pretty sure that most of the fans on here are good people. :)

They just bicker alot some days! ;)

I've made a lot of really great friends on the board and I'm really grateful for knowing them and being able to share my love of PJ with them. Anything after that is a bonus as far as I'm concerned.
And the odd person that I don't feel so friendly towards, well I'm quite sure they feel the same way about me and good on them! It's their right as it is mine.

You can't like everybody and everybody can't like you.

But variety is the spice of life. So I'm glad we're all here. :)
    NOPE!!!

But the force is weak in him. I think he's an ewok.

Edit: Oh and the grammar in his post is all wrong. Just thought I'd point that out. :D

(And what was the thread starter getting at again? I've completely lost track! )

I wasn't getting at anything really. I find the people on here funny. I guess I just felt sorry for the bloke (I presume a bloke) who got hassled for his Eddie thread and then had it cancelled.

I was joking when I asked what the thread was about. It's funny how it's deteriorated into a bit of a slagging match. :D
I missed that eddie thread. Where was it? On the M.T?

I think it was on The Porch' Just titled 'Eddie'. I don't know what I was thinking when I wrote this last night. Of course it was going to start a slagging match. Duh!

yeah, a lot of people have said something similar.

There seems to be a lot of hostility sometimes. (Biffy Clyro/Eddie thread).
It IS a Pearl Jam site AND Terms and Conditions does say at the beginning not to deliberatley cause arguments with people but it is quite easy to sometimes take something out of context here as we don't know each other.

But seriously, we all have a difference of opinion-which is great but we are all PJam fans too. None of us would have waited 24 hours to become a member if we didn't like the band. There is some quite cutting remarks that go back and forth that are quite funny but sometimes some people are just down right rude.

I read the thread with PJam in a chat room and I'm sure Eddie says at the end 'stay friends' or something like that.

i'm usually nice, but then i get those moments where i want to argue with people. So what i do is, i choose posts or threads that deserve to be slagged off and i start slagging them off for a day or two, and then i get bored, and start being nice again :)

as someone else said before if you come across as a nice person, you would not get any hassle from me.

today for example, i feel like only joking and being nice( but not to people who don't deserve it ;) ), after yesterdays Eddie Vedder & MCR threads.
  • geniegenie Posts: 2,222
But yeah, true Pearl Jam fans are nice people, majority of times.

Anyway welcome to the message pit :)

I can honestly say that out of going to 22 cancerts and having listened to PJ for the last almost 16 years that YES PJ fans are really cool people. I have only met in all my whiles ONE PJ fan who was an asshole.. he just happened to be an asshole to everyone..even other fans which is very abnormal for PJ fans.. anyhow He's the only one I've ever met that was an asshole and I run into alot of cool PJ fans I love em.. they make my day most days..some are eclectic some are obsessed some are just a bit kooky and some are extremely intelligent but all in all they are great peeps!! I will always love my fellow fans!!

that thread yesterday had me rolling.. some peeps are so easliy goaded. I swear that's what the guy was up to.. I'm bettign he was bored and thought
"Hmm let's go insult Eddie Vedder and see how many fans I can piss of at once" And.. he did quite nice to the tune of ten pages of pissed off replies and defending posts, before they closed the thread!! but it was still funny to read..still though for crazy threads The one On Ed's Truck and His Grey Hair are still my favorite retarded threads!! Until the next contender for that title comes along you all be nice to each other and have a great day!!!
