I mean you become a representative of your party or your community. You are a representative of the people you want to vote for you. Otherwise you will never be elected and will therefor not be a 'good' politician. So maybe you have to change your footing on some issues to appease your voters, even though you might be more sophisticated at determining the best course.
I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire
  • When I listen to the bootlegs depending on when they were recorded, Eddie often encourges people to vote. Now I understand his motives are good and that he wants a better world etc however I feel he should think about covering another Who song and have a wee think about the last two lines. It sums up the world of politcs, even history very well.

We'll be fighting in the streets
With our children at our feet
And the morals that they worship will be gone
And the men who spurred us on
Sit in judgement of all wrong
They decide and the shotgun sings the song

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
    Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
    We don't get fooled again

The change, it had to come
    We knew it all along
We were liberated from the foe, that' all
And the world looks just the same
    And history ain't changed
'Cause the banners, they all flown in the last war

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play
    Just like yesterday
Then I'll get on my knees and pray
    We don't get fooled again
    No, no!

I'll move myself and my family aside
If we happen to be left half alive
I'll get all my papers and smile at the sky
For I know that the hypnotized never lie

    Do ya?

    Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

    There's nothing in the street
    Looks any different to me
And the slogans are replaced, by-the-bye
And the parting on the left
Is now the parting on the right
And the beards have all grown longer overnight

I'll tip my hat to the new constitution
Take a bow for the new revolution
Smile and grin at the change all around
Pick up my guitar and play

    Don't get fooled again
    No, no!

    Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!

I am interested to hear what everybody says but I was just curious to see if ANYBODY had anything positive to say. I have a few family members and in - laws that work in politics and although, we don't always agree, they have the best intentions for this country. I just wonder how it all seems to go so wrong.

    holy...lol....talk about splitting hairs.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

    Excellent Question!!

Yes, I would make a good politician but I don't think I would be a popular one which in real world is what makes you a good one.
I can't go the library anymore, everyone STINKS!!
  • I think I'd make a good politician.

Then again, I also think kissing tramps is a worthy cause.
Smokey Robinson constantly looks like he's trying to act natural after being accused of farting.

There is a very simple reason . . . man is simple not designed to make decisions on what is right & wrong independent from our Creator.

(Jeremiah 10:23) I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.

How on earth do you keep everyone happy?

    JUST GIVE THEM SOME TRUTH!

I'm sick and tired of hearing things
    From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocritics
All I want is the truth
    Just gimme some truth
Ive had enough of reading things
    By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians
All I want is the truth
    Just gimme some truth

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of hope
    Money for dope
    Money for rope

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of soap
    Money for dope
    Money for rope

I'm sick to death of seeing things
From tight-lipped, condescending, mamas little chauvinists
All I want is the truth
    Just gimme some truth now

Ive had enough of watching scenes
    Of schizophrenic, ego-centric, paranoiac, prima-donnas
All I want is the truth now
    Just gimme some truth

No short-haired, yellow-bellied, son of tricky dicky
Is gonna mother hubbard soft soap me
With just a pocketful of soap
    Its money for dope
    Money for rope

Ah, Im sick and tired of hearing things
    From uptight, short-sighted, narrow-minded hypocrites
All I want is the truth now
    Just gimme some truth now

Ive had enough of reading things
    By neurotic, psychotic, pig-headed politicians

    Just gimme some truth
All I want is the truth
    Just gimme some truth
Freedom is a state of mind...
