you can't prepare for questions you do not know the answers to ... that's the whole point ... it's one thing to stumble in an interview but still know what you're talking about ... but she has no answers cuz she doesn't know ... that's the point ...
GWB is a perfect example of what you are clinging to ... governor with experience ... and we all know what that means ...
This is actually fairly hilarious...now I'm arguing that Palin should have been prepared and blew it...and you won;t let it be
As for Governor with executive experience, I'm talking more Reagan than Bush But in general I believe it to be true, with exception of course. I'd trust a Dem like Bill CLinton to be president (before he was president) long before I'd trust Biden for example....so if all else is equal...I'll vote for the governor.

because you fail to admit that she is not qualified for the job she is running for ...
1) I believe that being a governor prepares you better to be president than being a Senator or Representative, etc....in general. I would also believe that running a successful business where you are pres & ceo, etc is better experience than Senator & Representative.
2) I saw potential in Palin and am very disappointed in her performance in what should be very easy, standard interviews...she was outstanding at the convention where no one could ask her a question.
3) I do think people have developed an unnatural level of distaste for Palin that certianly borders on hate.
4) I do love a challange, which is why I didn't let this thread become just another liberal circle jerk cutting down Palin.

I personally think she is qualified as I'm ok with many outsiders running for VP/President. Well, you're not qualified but I think I am, and many others here are qualified to be VP and President.
Her performance makes me think that she's not a good choice though.

say it cincy!! ... "NOT QUALIFIED" ... you can do it! ...
What's your definition of qualified? She certainly meets the qualification to be VP. She was born in America...how old is she????
haha ... i suppose she is the epitome of the american dream ... proof anyone can be VP of the USA!! ... anyways - i digress ... i have known you to be a patriot and if you entrust her with representing your country in domestic and foreign affairs - who am i to judge? ... sure, her backers believe in policies that will affect me and the rest of the world but hey - she was born in america and that's all that matters ...

I wonder how pissed all the republicans somewhat qualified are now???
I can only imagine how Romney feels being beat out by someone who has absolutely no knowledge about anything. She can't even get her talking points straight! Huckabee has almost said as much. I'd be pissed.
Man, and I thought Romney would have been a terrible choice. Goes to show what I know. He seems to be the resident GOP economy man. If they'd only been able to forsee the storm we're in now.

If Romney had been the VP choice, I'd predict that McCain would have made HUGE strides this week in the polls and could eventually overtake Obama.
I wouldn't say I hate Palin by any stretch of the imagination. That being said, eek. What were they thinking? She's asked twice about Rick Davis and the Freddie Mac situation (and Couric manages to be a smart interviewer here, tweaking the second question just enough so she can not be criticized as repeating the same question), and she repeats the answer practically word-for-word. "Rick Davis recused himself from all dealings with that, and I hope that is the case."
I'm just surprised that it's gotten to the point that a politician like Palin cannot be grilled for specifics without calls proclaiming that the interviewer was being 'hard' on her. Are we really that far gone, where if you ask a politician for specifics you're 'out of line?'

Have you seen the second part? Where she talks about knowing about Russia because she is close to Russia??!!

It seems so. But the press has begun to rebel, and this sheltering of Palin is now backfiring, and it's happening at a time that could not be worse for McCain.
I'm really stunned though that in this amount of time, they haven't gotten her ready. What is the reason for this? It has to be one of two things: Either Palin really is kind of dumb or her handlers are doing an extraordinarily bad job prepping her. Maybe both. I really didn't think she was dumb. I thought she'd be fine by this point. I believe it has more to do with trying to mould her into something she is not, and it completely backfiring.

I don't get it either. I'm sure she's plenty smart. But I mean, take Biden for example; for all the ridiculously strange gaffes he's made this campaign (or his entire career) no one probably ever has or ever could accuse him of not having grasp of the issues. Palin, thus far, just seems to have absolutely no grasp of the issues.
Palin can speak, she is fine as a person except her very apparent lack of understanding on how the world works. This detracts a lot of how she is perceived given the position she is trying to sell herself in. She knows very little in reality, and I don't think the US can afford the luxury of any on the job training scenarios in light of current circumstances.
i.e. hit the ground running, unless simply (and mindlessly) parroting the current administration's agenda is considered training enough.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions

You need to be more clear, are you talking about Romney not being chosen VP or Romney not winning the nomination and being beaten by McCain?
Feed the beast.
