    No, God is a Noman.
I necessarily have the passion for writing this, and you have the passion for condemning me; both of us are equally fools, equally the toys of destiny. Your nature is to do harm, mine is to love truth, and to make it public in spite of you. - Voltaire
  • Well, this is a pointless thread. I think people here are smart enough not to get baited into this.

there's so much hate towards americans. it's quite sad really to hear of all this hate and to group all americans into one bunch. whether God is american or not isn't really important, but i'm pretty sure what's important to Him is that he will cast the haters into hell.
I died. I died and you just stood there. I died and you watched. I died and you walked by and said no. I'm dead.

Luckily for god, his mother was in the US on a temporary visa when he was born. So, yes, he is an american.

You can't speak of God in the past tense because God is, was, and always will be, all at the same time.

Additionally, Kurt existed for but a millisecond within the frame of universal time, whereas God existed before time and will exist after time.

Additionally, Kurt Cobain killed himself. God hasn't killed himself yet, but that's a philosophical question.

And your hero, by virtue of his being able to ascertain God's sexual orientation, recognized His existence.

Furthermore, why would you have used that quote if you didn't agree with it?

I don't wonder about God's nationality... but, i wonder where America fits into God's Universe.
I mean, Americans see ourselves as good guys... and I think we mean well... but in today's world, where do we fit in? If these are Biblical days... aren't we closer aligned to Ancient Rome, than the other nations the Bible refers to?
Think about it... the lop-sided wealth, our military strength, our economic reach. And look at our lives... we are in an endless pursuit of money, not spirituality and godliness.
This isn't America bashing... this is shining a spotlight on us and revealing that we are not as good as we may believe we are. If we were, we would be more concerned about what America does and how America is preceived.
I'm not advocating a Theocracy, either... mixing religion with politics is a bad mixture... one only needs to look at the Middle Eastern nations for that proof. We don't need laws drafted to coerce us into religion... maybe we just need to exercise our faiths more in our everyday lives. I know that many Americans 'claim' to do so... but, do they? Pointing at someone else's faults and not recognizing that in doing so, you are revealing your own faults is probably not what God wants from us.
No one needs to show me how 'good' they are... it isn't my concern. If you believe God is watching, I would think you would do good things because you are a good person, not because you have a condition attached to it.
Anyway... back to the main issue... NO... I beleive God is NOT American (or any other nationality). I don't even believe He is human or human-like. I also believe that all He wants us to be... is decent to each other, His animals and His planet. God may have created the Universe and the Earth... but, we cannot pin the borders on Him... those are all our fault.

Even though you aren't religious, I respect your understanding of the spiritual.

And amen. I agree that America is much like Ancient Rome. Probably for different reasons and I probably have different solutions. Either way, touche brother.

    Additionally, I am Christmasy drunk.

Watch out for more derogatory words from me in the future.

No. If god is real, then he is worldly and not designated to any specific country. If he isnt real, then he obviously cant be of a specific nationality. So no, god isnt an american.

God hails from Niagra Falls. Some say the Canadian side while others say the U.S. Side. God likes the Buffalo Sabers, but also the Toronto Argonauts. Who knows.

Yes. But everyone thinks that he's doing it in his God's name.

I don't think Kurt was using the word "gay" in a derogatory manner. I think he was trying to point out that if there is a god, then he is being totally misunderstood.
