But, for lying to Federal Agents?

Sad thing is she really didn't have to. Or, that is to say, she is/was a top-notch track and field phenom.

She's not making excuses. She's fessing up, and I've got to give her credit for coming clean like she is. She's a classy person. Not bad looking either.

    Heheh.

oh i wasn't pointing that at marion jones gue. you were the one that said it.

and give me a break would you. she didnt come clean as an act of contrition. she's doing it before someone else outs her. and to lessen her jail time.

All I'm saying is, and the reason I made the post is because I saw the press conference, in which she outed herself to her fans, and she did it in a dignified and honest manner.

And then of course I gave my twist on the Federal Government which is pretty much 'fuck the federal government."

    Nah.

I mean, why can't some of our politicians come clean like that? I don't think her shame was contrived. The concern for what this was going to do to her family, not contrived. In spite of what she may be facing in jail time, I think she came out strong and equal to honest as she could.... The gig was up.

i didn't say contrived. i said chastened. caught with her hand in the cookie jar so to speak. and yeah i can imagine she is concerned for her family. genuinely so, why wouldn't she be?

and when one is faced with irrefutable evidence, what the hell else can they do but bite the bullet and come clean?

She overdramatized her position. I mean, with lying to her country and all that BS rhetoric.

Up til then, though, she was admirable, brave.

and totally encapsulating what it is to be american, or other nationality, in the public eye. rumour rumour - public denial - histrionic outrage - admission and public disgrace - public redemption. throw oneself on the mercy of the country by making them think you actually give a shit what they think. ;)

That's not the case these days.

which part? all of it? ive seen more press conferences with sport stars asking for forgiveness or admitting wrongs or whatever than i have with politicians. though that probably says more about politicians inability to come clean than anything else. honestly i don't even care what these people do on the field, or track as the case may be, why would i care what they do in private?

Our current politicians aren't being put on the spot by our Federal Agents as they should be. This is so pitiful a headline compared to what really rages on in America.

she's a liar, and her career is over anyway, so it a big deal to retire. She knew what she was doing, others, including her ex husband underoath, and Conti from Balco said she knew exactly what she was taking. I have no sympathy for her, she still saying she didn't need them, her ability and work ethic made her the best...NOT! Heheh.

So classy that she might be screwing her relay teammates out of medals.

She might have fessed up in a dignified way, but she only did because she was caught. Kinda like when someone caught having an affair apologizes and comes clean... if she never got caught, there would be no speech about how concerned she was about her family.

Ok. Now hand back every medal she's ever won. And have her jump on some computer to wipe out every single win she's had from the records.

If she can do that, THEN she's really contrite.

Man, they knew she was taking steroids at the time, I remember see all the hoola about it. The question is, why is she admitting NOW? Why all of a sudden, seven years after the fact? Are the Feds persecuting her in another way to get her to apologize, because that apology totally didn't seem natural. Something else is up, as always.

tis all part of a bigger investigation. the feds gave her the chance to fess up and get a lighter jail sentence.
