KidCarnivore wrote:This seems to insinuate that I'm a "right-winger" or, worse, a supporter of President Bush. That couldn't be further from the truth. I am, however, tired of the silliness of some of the president's loudest detractors. David Cross calling the president "fuckface" doesn't help anything. Hollywood blowhards don't help anything. This half-cocked petition doesn't help anything. I'm tired of the president's colossal failures being overshadowed by nit-picking lunatics.
I don't know what you are but you obviously like everything all proper with no room varying degrees of expression. Boring. I think fuckface works pretty well...it's humorous. Relax just a tad....calling Bush a fuckface, or even this petition isn't hurting anything. What bad is going to come of it?? If someone is that fickle to decide where they stand because of such trival instances then who needs them anyways? People have to get their frustrations out somehow and chances are they're not all going to be brilliant and also they're not going to run it by you for approval either. So I see no need to waste time worrying about it.If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

I didn't say otherwise. My point was ridiculous and less conventional expression happens from boths sides. I was showing that this petition getting posted by 'anti bush folks' is the same as my example of 'you guys' sticking together. If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

KidCarnivore does have a point I agree with in "I'm tired of the president's colossal failures being overshadowed by nit-picking lunatics." I disagree that petitions like these are part of that problem, and those nitpickers who are overshadowing the failures mainly reside in office in Washington, DC.

I agree. These petitions aren't part of the problem. These petitions are so irrelevant it would take a miracle to elevate them to the level of "problem".
I also agree that Bush is a problem, but there's nothing much we can do at this point except ride out the storm."I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080 -

Why do you suppose that is?

I'm afraid people are far more interested in clicking on pictures of Britney's shaved head (or shaved whatever), than they are in engaging in any meaningful activity online. And if a petition is up for a year and only garners a couple of hundred signatures, it doesn't make a particularly compelling statement."I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." It is compelling in it's legal content, as is the content of the Irishman's Ed Horgan's warrant of 2005.
For the people who do take the time to read the petition, do you think fear plays a factor in the decision not to sign? I do. I think fear plays a heavier hand than any sort of semblence of justice in this country at this point and time.
How do we change that?

fear of being watched, monitored. fear of being put on a watchlist. fear of being harrassed. fear of being segregated as a fringe element. fear of being labeled a terrorist sympathizer. and on and on.

lol, that's crazy...in my opinion at least. i didn't sign it, but only because i rarely sign anything online. besides, i'm not a big petition signing type person, anyway. even if it's something i can get behind, i usually don't sign it."PC Load Letter?! What the fuck does that mean?"

It's not crazy. Watch the documentary 'Unconstitutional'.If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise they'll kill you.

I don't have any fear of signing the petition, I just don't think that petition a) made a compelling enough case; and b) has the potential to amount to anything."I'll use the magic word - let's just shut the fuck up, please." EV, 04/13/080

that's why i threw in "in my opinion". are you trying to say my opinion is wrong, abook? are you trying to suffocate my opinion?"PC Load Letter?! What the fuck does that mean?"

No, it isn't crazy. I've posted several stories today that show that the DHS with the FBI are under orders to disrupt and harrass online (and "offline") media organizations in this country, and abroad who are asking that justice be brought to the criminal activities of this administration.
I respect your view of online petitions, but apathy in the face of injustice begs the question, what do you recommend?

what do i recommend...hmm...i don't know, because i don't have the answers. i'm a schlub that's just killing time at work until it's time to go home (which is about 30 seconds from now). all i'm saying is "in my opinion" it's crazy to think you're going to be flagged because you sign something. i'd be more worried about hackers getting into bank accounts or something to that affect."PC Load Letter?! Yep. I'm choking your opinion out!Next time you'll know better.

I don't use online banking, seems insecure.
In my estimation, based upon the documentation and flimsy excuses the DHS and FBI use to infiltrate and harrass anti-war "types" that I've read, I'm 99% certain that this site is being monitored by the FBI for its anti-war, anti-bush views.
