I disagree. They are either being trained harder or their stress levels are higher. Something has changed in the police force, that I am sure of.

I agree, but it's a symptom of a problem, they aren't the problem is my take on it. Stress is definitely higher in inner cities, and east texas, lol (sorry for hte no country for old men pun)

let's try and different approach, what laws are criminalizing you for doing nothing wrong?

some are, but not most...it could be far worse, we need to fix what is wrong though.

It's funny ... I've never had a run-in with a cop that has been anything more than professional ... of course, I don't do anything illegal outside of maybe speeding occasionally.

It seems like the most ardent "fuck the po-lice" types are also the ones who do the most illegal shit. I don't think it's a coincidence.

As for this "police state" mumbo-jumbo ... I would love for some of you to have to go live in a real police state. Americans are so fucking spoiled.

agreed, I've lived in several states across the country, been to 26 countries, seen some crazy stuff, far to many in this country are clueless, but we still have a lot to fix here, we aren't this bs false propaganda "greatest country on earth", that is unfallable, we fuck over many around the world, as citizens we need to own up to it, and work toward becoming better. Luckily, we aren't russia, so working to be better, while dealing with live currently isn't so bad.

If you 'phoned the police in this country, about a burglary, there's a fair chance they won't even bother showing up.

maybe you need to move? this isn't a common problem. If it is, communities take action, and go to city hall meetings and get it fixed.

  • i never had any cops be overly concerned with minor offenses until that bitch gave me a ticket for no seatbelt! Who does that!?

but cops have let much worse offenses slide, so i guess i'm lucky.

I haven't heard of them letting seatbelt offenses slide in Cali. They are pretty tight on that one.

Nah, it's nationwide in the UK. If the burglar has fled the scene, the cops won't show at all, which I still think inexcusable. They send community support officers with no real experience:

So, I suppose I'm saying US cops are better, in supporting property owners.

I'm not up on UK cops, but we have enough issue with US cops, among them, they keep asking them to do more with less, which is a bad idea IMO.

The US has the biggest prison population in the world, per capita. I think we spend more than enough on "enforcement."
