Since our tax money is being shifted outside the United States. And the fact that we pay over double the price you see at the pumps for gas, it is to my understanding that these checks are expected to be cashed and put directly into your local communities. Is this correct?

So if the problem is a war, why isn't this being altered. Since our government isn't concerned about the health of our citizens and is quick to look away when more die every day in a foreign country, why are they so eager to fix an economy that we exist in?

Bush couldn't get approved for another 45 billion dollars in weapons and war tactics.

So instead of giving up... he announces this check.

While the war continues, and we pile on more debt than ever before throughout history, our economy will spike for maybe a month or two? or two days.... (we will find out very soon :P)

when you owe money all over the world and than millions of citizens receive and cash a check that will be put into our economy..it not only puts a price on Bush's head....but it puts a price on everyone in this country's head.

If you cash this check and use it... we all deserve what is coming.

I really hope its our government that is the enemy to so many and not us...the people..

These are very bad people...with very bad intentions for all of us.

    attacks here are very real
  • It can be viewed as a societal crack hit to shift focus away from the perceived economic situation. A lot (a lot...as in many) people will think if the govt has money to hand out, then the economy must be fine. A lot of people haven't the slightest clue about economics.

So indirectly this can be perceived as taking heat off the Bush admin which, in effect, does lend additional support to further their little war plan indirectly.
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

but they shouldnt have money to hand out when you are still in debt....correct?

you seem real about this idea... how do you think this will be perceived by governments outside the U.S. ?

Most likely as ridiculous as it is. It's like installing 10 locks on your front door so your wife can sleep better at night while leaving the back door wide open with a flashing enter sign after she goes to sleep.

I think It's a diversionary tactic to shift focus from reality, so they can juggle the balls they like to juggle instead (war).

and thats the point of this thread. these shockingly irresponsible actions by our government can ignite a fuse in many... so i'm not trying to make people afraid...but i am saying... do not be surprised if we are attacked again and the miscreants die in act. its a dangerous game

    I 2nd that notion.

If he wanted to stimulate real growth he should have got control of the housing mess before it started and let people like me who make $65 grand a year be able to afford a house. This country is in the wrong hands and it's going to take forever to fix.

All I know is we have less than a year before this moron is out of office.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.
