1. Kuwait funded Iraq to engage in a war called: Iran/Iraq war (macgyver06)
2. Fact that the US government supported the gasing of Iranians and pro-Iranians Shias in Iraq.(mammasan)

    Saddam invaded Kuwait killing, torturing, and raping as many Kuwaiti civilians as possible.

    saddam used chemical weapons against iranians.

    Actually, it was both. There are some de-classified memos out there that show this. The U.S. was concerned that supporting Hussein could pose a political problem because he was using chemical weapons against Iran during that war.

    Sorry I don't have any links, but I'm 100% sure that info is out there.

    Not to stray to far off course but Saddam was recently convicted of gassing Shi'tes back in 1982. At that point in time where we not providing him with weapons and intelligence of where to attack. Odd how the same action was acceptable back then but is criminal now.

    jlew...that is a commercial web site, with no references and in the first paragraphs, there is major speculation. but again..im sure they used chems on iran, but its still not proven on this post... so it shouldnt be here.
